Fabregas

Apparently available for 30m, should we be interested?
Ticks a lot of boxes for me, would prefer over Fernando as would leave us with fernandnho and Garcia as defensive midfield options and yaya and fab as offensive midfield options. Could also be a successor to yaya long term.
Added in the whole homegrown thing, it makes a lot of sense to me.
Opinions?

I would definitely go for him but I have a feeling that if he's going back to England his first choice would be Arsenal. The put in a buy back clause in the contract when they sold him to Barca. So at this stage they are the front runners.

I don't think we can afford to not go for him. He'd be a perfect fit in our squad in my opinion

For 30mil most definitely! As said in the OP, ticks a lot of boxes and has a lot of good years in him
But I think he's going to rags

Played well alongside Nasri at the arse and likewise with Silva for Spain, probably Navas too? Knows the premier league inside out..
Struggling to find a reason why he'd not add to the party
Get the cheque book out I say. 48 goals in 96 games for Barca, I like that

Not for us I don't think. Dependant on if any of our midfield are leaving, we're looking for decent back-up, not a known starter.
Saying that, I'm sure it'll be linked with a Sergio move soon.

We should be all over him.like a rash at £30m cost. Proven in Prem, 4 years younger than Toure and a far less of a pain in the arse in terms of his Agent, and being unsettled every bloody summer.

Could not agree more. Offload Toure and bring in Fabrigas.. Might even make on the deal. Would snatch off hands....

We need to strengthen elsewhere,. And as I don't expect Touré to leave I don't see any point in pursuing him. He'll end up staying at Barcelona, I reckon (or the rags, if he's desperate to get away).

360 sources claims Fabregas has agreed to join City. No idea how reliable this is.

I haven't but I saw it on @360. That should get you it . Tolmie''s hairdo claimed that Txiki had said in Spain a month ago on the record they'd go for Fabregas 'in a flash' if he was available . Multiple sources claimed he was available for 25 million pounds and wanted to come back to the Premiership. I also saw suggestions that the Arse didn't want him and that he was in the UK today. It's not far fetched although it's incredibly fast moving of City. Who do we sell though and still have money for Fernando and a top class centre back? Negredo? Yaya? Milner? Who knows?

Twitter is hotting up with Cesc to City stories popping up all over ... not sure what to make of it?

Try @360sources with no spaces. I think they're somewhat jumping the gun but the story is very credible in general terms. We'd be far more attractive to Cesc than the rags with CL football and the very strong Spanish influence in the club on and off the field.

Good first ever tweet from Sky Sports there. I see you spotted it. Wouldn't surprise me if it happened though, even if there was no basis whatsoever other than the rumours surrounding CIty!

Txixi and Co don't like troublemakers. Tevez and Balo a case in point. I wonder if Yaya is going the same way. I love Yaya - he is my favourite current player but the last week or so has been very disappointing. He's 31. Maybe they will cash in on him and get Fabregas and Txixi is on record as being a big fan.
