Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

It was only a matter of time but it looks like the major sponsors for the World Cup are concerned. Sony, Adidas, Visa, Coca-Cola, Hyundai, BP and Budweiser have all called into question the awarding of Qatar getting the World Cup. But Blatter says its all just racism that is leading to the outcry of them getting the World Cup.

After Blatter said that racism can be solved by a handshake he's now complaining that the uproar over the Qatar claims is down to a form of discrimination and racism.
How low can this bloke get?

So he's basically calling their biggest sponsors racists?
Smart move!

An entity totally above governance. I mean, who could force them to be accountable for their actions? Their members? Certainly no government.

I suppose the only thing that can force the issue is if all the main sponsors get cold feet associating themselves with such a brazenly bent organization. I would also suggest, cynically, that they, just like FIFA, would sooner have it all blow over for fear of other companies taking their place at the trough.

Blatter (my spell check for some reason keeps automatically changing it to blather) is certainly not displaying the body language of someone really up for changing his mind.
As for the sponsors they can tell their shareholders they protested and in so doing wrung some changes or other to FIFA., blah blah blah.
Qatar it is.

The man is not only corrupt he's demented. This is the guy who said racism wasn't a problem on the field and you should shake hands afterwards. Now he says it is racism when you investigate corruption. Always bearing in mind the racist approach of his pal Platini to Abu Dhabi in the case of City.
Jeffrey Archer couldn't have written the script.

He could always fine the investigators £5,000 for their racism and then let them get on with it. Just as long as they don't wear sponsored underpants, otherwise he'll have to throw the book at them

Hahahah, what a rip on FIFA .
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

It's definitely starting.
Masquerading as the saviours of football, Gill, Platini are here to rid us of the demon blatter.
It's exactly as I imagined it as soon as Gill started to worm into uefa.
Sickening.

To be fair mate, Gill and Van Praag only said what needed to be said. Blatter has polluted the FIFA poison even more than it was and even under the current curcumstances he decides that he wants to be re-elected?
Under normal conditions, surely there would be no possible way that he would get the backing from the rest of the members but as we know these aren't normal conditions, these are Blatter's conditions. By the very fact that he has stated he wants to run again clearly says that he has already laid the groundwork to get re-elected and probably used every means to get there.
I'd prefer to see Blatter gone to be honest.
