Scored tonight and his Dutch U21s are giving the scots a lesson in football. 4-0 at the moment and I think it will be more

definitly not, a loan for premier league beckons.

If nothing else i think if we do sell him we would get a few quid for him.

He didn't make the Dutch WC squad.
The competition is really poor (this is the worst Dutch squad in bonkers - especially the defense), so I'm a bit surprised. The lad's still very young, though.

The PSV fans seem to have fallen out of love with Rekik. They still rate him, but they don't think he is the best thing since sliced bread anymore, and quite a few on the forums even seem not to want to buy him or loan him for yet another season. A few snippets:

I don't see a future top player in Rekik. He does have the physique and the menatality for the top, but there are element of the game that don't come naturally to him. I.E. Sometimes you need to solve a situation by instinct and Rekik seems like a player who isn't capable of this - he just does what the coaches have instructed him to. I also thinks he looks too much at his man instead of at the ball when choosing how to position himself.

PSV might have a good chance of signing him after this season, but I would aim higher.

He seems to be low on confidence right now and not in form, but he really has it all:

Great, functional technique, ability to stay focused for 90 minutes (despite his age), hard as nails, makes smart challenges, good with his head, good passing, good mentality,

For young talents, you should look at their top performances rather than stability. Rekik was spectacular his first months at PSV. That's what he CAN achieve. What he now IS achieving is less important.

I don't think you should judge a 19 year old the same way you judge a 25 year old - especially when it comes to defenders. For forwards stability is of less importance, which suits young players better.

Hasn't progressed at all this season, which is a worry.

I've watched a fair bit of Rekik this season & imo he is better now than he was when he first signed for PSV. Surprised the fans think he was better then.

But still slow & not great in the air, & positionally iffy. But they are not conceding many goals & he has made one or two good interceptions etc (although the oppo is usually very very poor).

I would still prefer Savic if it came down to it.

This thread demonstrates what a good decision City made in farming him out on loan.

Good shout. I honestly loved it as well. I dunno. I mean... He's not wrong.

Next time I do something supremely underwhelming I'm going to make a song of my name and turn it into Yoko Ono performance art.

Cheers
