Heres mine:
Hart
Foster
Ruddy
Johnson
Baines
Shaw
Jagielka
Cahill
Lescott
Stones
Gerrard
Carrick
Henderson
Milner
Barkley
Wilshere
Lallana
Oxlade-chamberlain
Sterling
Rooney
Sturridge
Wellbeck
Lambert
No point taking 8 defenders when we will need the legs in the middle, so its whoever can play centre half and rightback gets the nod...stones shows promise so id take him
whats your squad?

Not bad.
Like your omission of the United guys but it ain't going to happen I'm afraid.
Not sure if Forster is a better keeper than Ruddy but to be fair have had more chance to see the weaknesses of Ruddy.

i think England are mad to leave Cole out, still one of the best in the world, Baines not a patch on him and only has 6 appearances against the part timers in competitive games. Madness.

Hasnt Cole retired though? or was he told he wouldnt be picked so retired in a huff? I dont know
England has to use this tournament to get this next lot playing together...and if they get out of the group they deserve credit

he retired after been told he would be left out. Baines isnt too young himself though(and i am prob one of the few people who dont rate him, especially not defensively).

That new Rag wunderkind has to be in there. He has the requisite 60 minutes playing time.

Big mistake for England not to take Cole to the WC. Easily England's best player at the last two tournaments. Fair enough he is getting old but Baines is hardly a spring chicken and has no top quality experience. Shaw and Cole is the best of both worlds.

I'd have took Wickham over Welshit.
I'd have also had Lampard in there.

I'm just relieved Hodgson saw saw some sense and didn't include Cleverly, albeit he is in the backup squad

There's an alternate thread currently running which asks if our current side is the best City side ever.
In view of that, perhaps this thread could be altered to ask if this is the worst England World Cup Squad ever.

Not much to argue about. Depressing to not have any options!
No point arguing about the 4th striker or the 8th defender, as you wouldn't want those players on the pitch anyway.
We all know that Lescott is twice the defender the likes of Smalling or Stones are, but he hasn't kicked a ball in months.
My major worry is the midfield, as there doesn't seem to be an alternative to Gerrard in the holding role (which is an alarming prospect itself, if you ask me).
