We're very lucky to have him. I still think he will earn a statue (or part of the stadium named after him) by the time he retires.

One of the best no doubt about it! Just wish he had a right foot!

He is in the top 5 but doesnt score enough to be the best for me. Also is a little bit one footed but as a creator of chances, on his day, he is sublime and certainly in the Prem he is the best

Yes. If he could score more he would be in top 3 in the world.

Not meaning to piss on your love-in, but he is not the best player in THIS side.

Best at opening up passing lanes that's for sure. Sees what very few see.

I'm with Slim. I choose Yaya before him most days.

Silva is an unbelievably gifted player; one of the very best ever to play in the Premier League.
He has fantastic awareness of space and movement around him, can receive and use the ball in the tightest of situations and has a brilliant first, and second, and third etc. touch.
I can't help thinking that if he played in London he would get much more journalistic hype.
For me he's there with Bell and Toure as the finest players I've ever seen in a City shirt.
I'm totally torn about the Word Cup, on one hand I'd love the world to see what we see, on the other hand I want him to miss it to rest than ankle!

Silva is a wonderful player.
I wouldn't class him as 'the best' at anything really but he is a one off & one of the best sights to see on a football pitch. The way he moves, his touch, his vision, it's just poetry really. I was so much enjoying the game v West ham, just watching him moving the ball around, looking for angles. Even when a chance wasn't created, just watching the grace & intelligence of his play; it is sublime.
There is more than one way to skin a cat though, & some players are far more clinical in the final 3rd than DS, no matter what the assists stats show. But Silva offers something to a team that is unique.
Nobody else does what he does.

On a side note our stadium does need some statues outside the ground.

Silva is our 'MVP' for me. Always runs the games. Lets himself down in the box where he can be pretty awful. That's why he never gets the credit he deserves from other fans, and pundits.

great footballer.
i dont get this 'he doesnt score enough' bollocks to that when a player is a creative as him he doesnt need to score.
we scored over 100 goals we dont need him to score we need him to create.
class act sheer class, technically one of the best around.

Iniesta doesn't score too many goals either as far as I know, yet he gets the plaudits.
I think silva controls the game far more than toure. In fact, he controls the game far more than anyone in the league imo

That's probably true.
Attacking players need to score goals though & he should score more. But against West Ham, he was trying to do exactly that & was very unlucky. If he just steps inside & has a dig a bit more, his value to the team will go up even further imo. He will score goals if he does that.
