They've reverted to type with the Gobshite as opposed to the studious football man, as someone else on here posted a few weeks back.

He'll be the Ron Atkinson/Tommy Docherty pantomime hate figure who will divide the city.

With Mourinho, it'll go one of two ways... they'll either hate each other, and jab at each other all season, or they'll team up against us like him and Ferguson used to.

van Gaal seems really easy to wind up though and his posts often don't end well, particularly at big clubs, and especially when the media goad him. Will the media realise they can have more fun throwing stones at him and seeing what happens than being up his arse?

Re World Cup, funnily enough, last time I was desperate for Holland to win because Nigel was one of my favourites. I also loved them in 98 when they knocked out Argentina...

This time I hope Spain beat them 4 nil with Silva setting up a Negredo hattrick, and then they lose to Australia. Filthy porn merchants...

Love it that VG's first signing might be Robben. Despised during his first Premiership spell, he'll be no better liked in the media this time, is older and injury prone. And you always know what he's gonna do. Full backs here must be much better than in the Bundesliga.

I remember his Dutch team failing to qualify for World Cup 2002, due to finishing behind - and being beaten by - Mick McCarthy's Ireland.

I trust Platini's FFP will keep a watchful eye on his spending

And Holland had some amazing players then, far better than the 2010 side... de Boer twins, Overmars, Davids, Kluivert, Cocu, even van Nistelrooy I'll admit was pretty good. It takes a special kind of cock-up not to qualify with those players. :D

I think the FFP rules allow them to spend their 600 million war chest with impunity, all teams in red have a special pass.

Oh yes, I did the managing Man U bit on Football Manager once. Tried to see how bad I could be before getting sacked... you genuinely attempt to win League Cup and CL group games to avoid suspicion, but put the worst possible sides out in league games and try and get into a relegation battle while damaging the financial position as much as possible. I was sacked by January when in 16th position and all players had 'lost confidence' in me, but I did have the laugh of seeing an 35-year old Argentine 2nd division striker I'd signed for 30-odd million missing an open goal at the Swamp.

Van Gaal absolutely loves himself to bits, so he'll fit right in at that place.

To borrow an old quote but an accurate one, "Mr Van Gaal fell in love with himself at an early age, and to be fair he's remained faithful ever since."

Soriano called him out a few months ago so he'll already have a built-in hatred for us. Good.

He does. Fucking Vermeer rolls over in his grave trying to find a good light to put this cunt in. Rembrandt shits himself when given the Rags portrait contract. #uglystick
