Save Moyes! Man City fans mock 'genius' Man Utd boss with banners at West Brom game
MANCHESTER CITY fans have heaped scorn upon rivals Manchester United by urging them not to sack beleaguered boss David Moyes.
Express Sport understands that Moyes is facing the sack at Old Trafford after less than a year in the job.
And with City playing West Brom on Monday night, Citizens fans couldn't resist the urge to take a swipe at United's poor season.
Two children held up a homemade banner which read, 'Don't sack Moyes'.
Other fans echoed the sentiments of Liverpool fans by holding up signs labelling Moyes 'a football genius'.
Liverpool fans first unveiled a banner with similar sentiments when United lost 3-0 to their rivals at Old Trafford at the end of March.
However, some City fans were more concerned with their own club's title chances than the misfortune of United.
The genius jibe echoed the sentiments of Liverpool fans [ACTION]
Indeed, one fan held up a sign throughout reminding City players that 'It's not over till the fat lady sings #andsheaintsingingyet'
City were third on 71 points heading into Monday night's game against the Baggies with two games in hand over first-placed Liverpool.
Manchester United meanwhile, are in seventh and can not now mathematically qualify for the Champions League after losing to Everton on Sunday.

Argentines make Premier League history
Manchester City's Pablo Zabaleta, Sergio Aguero and Martin Demichelis made history as they became the first Argentine trio to score in the same Premier League match.
Man City beat West Brom 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool to six points with Manuel Pellegrini's side still holding a game in hand and a better goal difference.
The Manchester side were in desperate need of a win after two disappointing results in the 3-2 defeat at Liverpool and being held to a 2-2 draw at home to Sunderland last week.
Zabaleta scored his first goal of the season after just two minutes and Aguero doubled the advantage on 10 minutes before Graham Dorrans looked to have put West Brom back in the game with a spectacular strike to make the score 2-1.
Demichelis restored parity after turning in a corner before half-time to put Man City 3-1 ahead and the defender's goal meant that a small piece of history was made by Pellegrini's side, with three Argentines scoring in the same Premier League fixture for the first time in history.

Manchester City Breaking Record Transfer Fee With World Class Star?
The rumors of Lionel Messi leaving Barcelona are beginning to gain strength as the season comes to its end. Although Manchester City has the money to obtain such player, it is doubtful that they will sign the best, and most marketed player in the world.
According to Mirror, Manchester City is ready to splash a stunning 250 million pounds in a try to land Lionel Messi from Barcelona this summer!
The prime product of famous “La Masia”, a four time winner of Ballon D’ Or, Lionel Messi, is reportedly unsettled at Barcelona.
The Catalans have had a tough season under Gerardo Martino, and it is possible that they will finish the season with no trophies won, which is would be a downright disaster for the club.
The board and the fans are not pleased, and many of them are targeting Messi with their critique, claiming that he is the one who should take a blame for Barcelona’s bad results.
In the second leg of Champions League quarterfinals, which Barca lost to Atletico, Messi has only run a few hundred meters more than goalkeeper Pinto, according to the match statistics!
Additionally, after that match, Barca had a “heated” reception by their own fans at the airport, and reportedly, Messi had had enough of all this. He doesn’t want to listen to any more insults and, allegedly, he and the new star Neymar aren’t getting along very well.
Barcelona’s board has been arguing for the last few days whether or not this is the right time to sell their star.
Of course, many clubs all across Europe would be desperate to sign Messi, but it is widely presumed that only a few of them have the funds to make such an enormous offer.
Manchester City is certainly one of them, and it is not a secret that sheik Mansour desperately wants to sign the, in his opinion, best player in the world.
Of course, it would be silly to discuss whether or not Lionel Messi would make an impact over at City’s headquarters, as one of the best players in the world.
An interesting detail about this rumor, and a possible motive for this move, is that Kun Aguero is a City player, and those two are considered to be maybe the best friends among all football players. Playing with his friend in the heart of attack would maybe again light Messi’s fire and make him the best, considering reports that David Villa and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have had to leave Barca because of Messi’s jealousy.
We will have to wait and see if this transfer will happen in the summer, but one thing is for sure, keeping an eye out for new details about this possible story will be interesting.

Manchester City skipper Kompany refuses to give up title
A 3-1 win over West Brom saw Manuel Pellegrini's men move within six points of league leaders Liverpool, and the captain is looking back at memories of 2012 to motivate the squad
Vincent Kompany says Manchester City's last-gasp title win in 2012 is giving the squad hope heading into their final four games of the season.
Monday night's 3-1 win over West Brom saw City close the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool to six points with a game in hand.
City won their first top-flight title in 44 years back in 2012 thanks to two goals in injury time on the final day of the season, and their captain believes "anything can happen" between now and the end of the campaign.
"It's job done and we had some good spells in the game. We'll take it with us in the final four games," he told Sky Sports.
"We can still remember what happened for us two years ago. We take motivation out of it but the most important thing is that we get back to the form we had at the beginning of the season.
"It looked like we were better against West Brom and if we take that into the next four games anything can happen."
It was not all positives at the Eithad Stadium as Sergio Aguero and David Silva were forced off through injury.
Manuel Pellegrini expects the striker to shake off any knock, but admitted the Spain international will undergo a scan on Tuesday to determine the damage - and Kompany is hoping for a quick recovery.
He added: "We knew David [Silva] was struggling. He's been great for us and he put in a shift. Hopefully he'll be back soon."

Real Madrid offered Luis Suarez - but they want Sergio Aguero
Real Madrid have been told by the agent of Luis Suarez, Pere Guardiola, that his client wants to move to the Bernabeu in the summer, reports El Confidencial.
Suarez signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool at the end of last year, reportedly increasing his wages to around £200,000-a-week and raising his release clause to £75 million.
Despite insisting he is happy at Anfield and will have Champions League football to look forward to next season, Suarez is still keen to join the La Liga giants. His agent has contacted Real Madrid officials twice to notify them of Suarez's desire.
Losing Suarez would be a huge blow to Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool, whose 30 goals have lifted the Reds to within touching distance of their first Premier League title.
However, they may not have to worry about Suarez wanting to join Real Madrid because, according to the Spanish broadsheet, Real Madrid may not want Suarez.
Although Real Madrid want to sign a star striker this summer, Florentino Perez is more keen on signing Sergio Aguero from Manchester City instead and will only start listening to Suarez's pleas if he fails to sign the Argentinean.
So far Manchester City have refused to entertain interest in their striker, who has spent a large part of the last two seasons out injured.
Even if Manchester City do agree to sell Aguero, Real Madrid will have to convince the striker, who has a hero status at Atletico Madrid, to join a club he once rivalled fiercely.
Real Madrid believe the sale of Karim Benzema could generate enough funds to make a move for either Liverpool's Suarez or Aguero but won't make a firm decision on who until the season ends.
Aguero remains a long-term target for the Real Madrid president but the form from Suarez, coupled with his desire to play at the Bernabeu, could entice Perez to meeting his release clause

Revealed: Who the media want to win Premier League - not Chelsea
Neither Manchester City or Chelsea hold the favour of football journalists in England, as "most" want Liverpool to claim the crown.
Currently atop the Premier League table with 80 points from 35 matches, Liverpool lead second-place Chelsea by five points and have a six-point advantage over Manchester City (who have a game in hand).
Liverpool have just three fixtures remaining in their football calendar and can wrap up a long elusive title should they return a hat-trick of positive results against Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday, versus Crystal Palace in south London on May 5 and against Newcastle United on Sunday, May 11.
In the event they do all that, they will make football writers in England extremely happy, says Daily Mirror reporter Oliver Holt in a Google Hangout with Bleacher Report, not because they are biased towards Brendan Rodgers' Reds, but because it represents the best story.
"I'm aware there's a certain breathlessness about the coverage of Liverpool's title push this season and I think a lot of fans of other clubs interpret that as bias towards Liverpool," he said. "It's biased in a way. It's not biased in the way that the journalists are Liverpool fans… it's more that that's the best story. Liverpool winning the title is the best story."
Holt continued by remarking that the fact they have not won a title in the Premier League era, that it is the 25th anniversary of Hillsborough and that they were billed as underdogs pre-season all provide a recipe for terrific copy: "The length of time since they won their last one, the restoration of a great club. and this season is 25 years since Hillsborough, which has stirred so many emotions. And the fact they're such huge underdogs. They've come from nowhere, from 7th last season…
"There are so many things feeding this narrative that it make it very attractive for journalists to cover and very attractive and easy to write about."

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

Yep, that's the way it is, and probably always will be. When we see anti-[insert club] bias it's usually because it suits the media outlet. The Dippers are reported to be still the 2nd favourite PL team around the globe and what better, in their year of remembrance, for them to win the PL and have all those Dippers hitting their sites and reading their back pages.

It's all about sales and stories and I'm afraid we've not got the popularity to dent their armour. Continued success will change that but don't expect it overnight, it just ain't going to happen.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".
