Manager of the year?

Postby nottsblue » Fri Apr 18, 2014 8:55 am

Now it seems unlikely Pellegrini will add another pot to the one already in place, who is your manager of the year?

For me it is Pulis.

When he went to Palace they had 4 points from 12 games. Since then they have 36 points from 22 games. In the context of where they were to where they are now it's a monumental achievement.

I fear however Rodgers may get the nod. An awful choice

Publish or rogers are both worthy contenders. I didn't give Liverpool a chance at the start of the season. They have been very good this season. I may not like it but you have to acknowledge how good they have been.

Definitely Pulis.

Pellers, Rodgers and Poccethino all worth a mention. Dare I say Hughes has surprised me as well.

Happy to see Solskjaer turning out to be shite.

Rodgers, you can say what you want but a) getting a team from 7th to 1st in todays climate is amazing 2) when that team only has about 2 players who would get in the other contenders teams its even more remarkable.

Like them or loathe them, i loathe them but its a great achievement for him.

Pulis has done an amazing job, any other year he would get it but Rodgers for me.

Pelligrini and Pochettino abs no chance for either.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In England Martinez ,i really like hes style and he look like a man who can bring that spark even to hard core profesional's about football and winning .In Europe i gotta give to Simeone ,To go with Atletico Madrid on Barcelona and Real in Spain u have to be magic man and same success in CL .Diego Simeone's success this season, the reason why Atletico Madrid will be feared in the CL semifinal draw , his system has proven to be mightily effective ,even when using some relatively modest players. So for me Manager in Europe.

A few months ago, in a different thread, I said Pulis was an outdated anachronism with his old fashioned, long-ball ideas of play; he had no place in the modern Premier League and his day had come and gone.

I also reckoned he would fail at Crystal Palace and only succeed in taking them down.

It only goes to show how little I know about football and I'm now having to eat humble pie so, on that basis, profuse apologies and congratulations to him for what he has achieved and I'd gladly give him the Manager of the Year award.

If Liverpool win the league it has to go to Rodgers. From 7th to 1st without spending that much money and playing great football in the process. Amazing achievement.

has to be Rodgers Martinez in that order for the top two. Rodgers has them running out believing they can win everytime and always looking like they are trying (very different to ours on far to many occasions imo) and Martinez has Everton playing 100% better football and if he had a bit of cash they really could be a top four club next season.
No way shoulld pellers be anywhere near it as hes fucked up to many times

A few contenders this season:

- As much as he annoys me, Rogers has performed fantastically at Liverpool. To take them from 7th to title challengers is a great achievement. It really puts Pellegrini to shame considering the squad/resources we have vs. them.

- Martinez has had a great season at Everton. For years we had to listen to how brilliant Moyes was doing at Everton, but this season Martinez has kept them challenging for the top 4 whilst playing good football (something Moyes never did). He has a big future ahead of him.

- Pulis has done a great job at Palace. They were dead certs to go down before he joined now they're looking likely to stay up. Fair play to him.

- Moyes...has simply exceeded expectations. A great appointment by Taggart and long may he reign at the Swamp!

If Liverpool win the league, I imagine Rogers will win it. If they don't and Everton claim 4th, Martinez will.

Roberto Martinez.

Brendan Rodgers is a contender, ok, but he has his team to thank mainly for the Dipper's success.
