As for the penalty. The ref couldn't wait to give it .

In what universe was that not a penalty?

oh please ! he was turning to the ball.

never a penalty. Even in your Universe

My mistake, of course you can do whatever you want to a player if you don't see him, should have kicked him in the head instead, better chance of injuring the sneaky cunt.

No Slim , not at all , the guy was turning to take the ball. He wasn't looking to foul any player.
These things happen , the ref couldn't wait to give the penalty.

So just because he wasn't looking at the player, it's ok to kick someone and stop them from going for the ball...

Never ceases to amaze me how stupid some people are...

(Although not so much in the case of this particular person)

I'm glad that wasn't his first match for us, he'd be being witch hunted and burned at the stake!

At the very least !!

In a perverse way, perhaps it was no bad thing he had a bad game this early in his time with City. We've all seen how good he was in the Chelsea game and this match might just have been a reality check for him, confirming there are no easy fixtures in the Premier League, irrespective of the opposition.

Every player makes mistakes but, at the end of the day, we got all three points and if this makes him roll his sleeves up and be more determined that it won't happen again, then City can only benefit.

He's a different proposition to some of our other recent centre-back acquisitions, so we should just cut the guy some slack and let him settle in (think of DeMichelis).

Ridiculously clear penalty. Surprised that's even been debated.

To say that wasn't a pen shows one of two things. Either a rag like blinkered view that every decision against City is wrong, or a complete lack of knowledge about the basic rules of football.

Could've been 2 penalties it was so bad. He's/we're lucky Kompany was jonny on the spot so that there was no "clear goal scoring opportunity".

Seriously? Whatever the ref wanted to do, it was a clear foul, he caught the player high up and was nowhere near the bloody ball.
Penalty all day long. It doesn't matter if he wasn't 'looking' to foul anyone, he did.

Mangala had a shocker but I wouldn't dwell on it, they happen and he'll learn.

You really are digging that hole deep down pal. It was a nailed on penalty, no debate about it. If that had been a foul on Sergio in the other box you would have gone ballistic had we not been given the decision.

As for Mangala, I'd prefer to focus on his superb debut, rather than what I hope was just "one of those days" yesterday. Time will tell I guess but I saw enough against Chelsea to think that we have another very good central defender in our ranks now.

He'll shrug it off, everyone has a bad day at the office now and then.

At least he'll learn you can't be complacent in this league against any team.

It was a penalty, yes, but I do not think it deserved a yellow card.

The Premier League is not an easy place for a centre back.

We had a great one in Lescott, who got no respect, & we have had several shithouses try to replace him, plus Demi who managed to do it excellently for half a season after initially being fucking awful.

The difference with Demi was that you could tell he was a proper defender, who was making bad decisions/ mistakes, rather than a shithouse. Same with Mangala. There may be more to come.

He was at fault with Chelsea's goal too imo, but it was no mistake worse than you see from the other defenders & Kolarov had gone missing from that area just as we needed him to concentrate, so it's not worth particularly worrying about Mangala's part.

Premier League is a shock for foreign defenders. They have to do everything quicker & harder.

Edit: also the way the Count wants us to play, is fucking difficult.

Lesser men would've gone to shit after them blunders. I think he deserves credit for putting it behind him so quickly, regaining his composure in the second half and finishing the game strongly.

Comparing Mangala to MDM, is it fair to say he just needs time? People seem quick to judge him but it was the same with Demichelis last year and he turned out not entirely shit.

should fuck off until mdm deserved to be dropped. we finally find vince a decent partner after years of fucking about and we drop him for this overpriced, out of confidence guy who gets skinned by a 17 year old
