He could get some time off the bench but will the result be clear cut enough for him to risk breaking up Vinny and MDM. Great pity he couldn't have played some part against Stoke.

Why? What's the hurry?

if were 2-0 up then throw mangala in as third centre back for last 10-15 mins.

i don't really see pellegrini ever doing that. it's too drastic of a formation change, and would mean we would be conceding the ball in midfield.

another midfielder to help there, yes, but not a 3rd defender, unless they are moved to another position.

they are desperate. we are not.

for a younger player on an experienced team maybe it is better to make them earn their time on the pitch, to keep their arrogance in check.

look at how throwing nasti in the first team may have led him to work less hard for his place, or joe perhaps becoming complacent in his development without competition.

i am not panicking a few games into the season for a player that did not train with us in the close season/pre-season and has had to work his way into fitness and the team.

Indeed. The bloke is still new at the club, he has new playing system to learn, new players to get used to and vice versa.
We will have to throw him to the deep end sooner or later anyway due to injuries, suspensions or whatever. We don't have to take unnecessary risk by throwing him in vs Arse, Bayern or Chrlsea just because we paid shitloads for him.

Wait until the Wednesday game, or if we must use him in those three big games then let it be the Bayern match.

Odd game for a debut, couldn't get more trial by fire than this.

maybe he wants to make sure he's got on experienced central defender in the Sheffield game. if Vinnie and Martin had played today it would've been Mangala with Boyata? thats too novice. so now Martin will lead that back line.

One of the best debuts i saw, totally different from the Porto fella i dislike.

The future looks good with him.

No, no, i was refering at the Porto version of Mangala.

Today he looked very different of how he looked there, but to be fair, this is the Premier League, you play against top opponents, not Rio Ave.

I think he means he didn't like Mangala when he saw him play for Porto.
