I heard that as well. Something like we'd be picking Otameni up for about £5 million because Valencia still owe us for Negredo.

Which makes it a deal we have to do.

Demi will fuck off back to Argentina next season and it would be ace to have his replacement lined up you know have an actual plan rather than have to go searching around europe with a stack of cash.

We should have just attached a Gene Kelly to the SS.

If he's the replacement for Demi fair enough, but I really want mangala to prove himself and deneyer to get games so can't see how we do it.
Tracking back is overrated.

He's staying according to the latest rumours that I've heard

Can you give us more details and source

Bluemoon. So probably about as concrete as a loaf of bread

Seems Spanish press think he's off on loan to Valencia, which seems to all stem from an article by Balague. English press think Otamendi is coming in, but Mangala is staying. Hope the Brits are right

Ah, if it's Balague saying Mangala is going to Valencia then there is every chance it is utter, utter bollox.

Good news that all that crap about him going has died down this morning, looking forward to him consolidating his place.

I wouldn't mind the bearded fuck tbh. But I'd also like to keep the Mangler and give him the chance to keep his place in the side.

Kompany/Mangala/Demichelis/Denayer sounds quite nice on paper, but Kompany/Mangala/Demichelis/Denayer/Otamendi sounds even better. One thing though, if Denayer stays, he must - absolutely must! - start in at least one of the cups. I don't care where - CB, RB, DM - but he must get serious minutes, not just crumbs. Otherwise we might just fuck him off for good.

I'd be raging if I was Denayer. He was outstanding at Celtic and great in pre season. Doesn't even look like getting a look in. Meanwhile Boyata who featured in the squad and got cup games despite poor loan displays is stinking the place out at Parkhead.

MEN has published the inside word. Mangala leaving is indeed bollox and Otomendi is not here yet. But Jorge Mendes is - to negotiate

Personally I support City not Denayer and I'm not qualified to comment on someone's possible transition from the Mickey Mouse league to the Premier. So I'll leave it to those who are .

thats the tough thing. he looked immense vs chelsea last season and did so again this season (plus he was pretty good vs Brom). but what if he ends up reverting back to his crappy ways of last season? do you let a few good performances now erase everything that you've already seen?

if we bring in Otamendi without shipping out a CB that doesn't look good for City promoting youngsters.

Bollox to promoting youngsters. The brief for Txiki and Pelle is to win cups. Denayer is a nice guy I'm sure. But maybe they imagined a situation where Kompany is suspended before a quarter final in Europe. Maybe they remembered our friendly against Real, where all 4 goals came right through the CB position? Maybe they thought they need another option?

Really worries me that some fans priority is not to win trophies but some sort of altruistic Wenger-style mission to bring on youngsters.

Anyway Ballague is a twat. After he wrongly said Otamendi is here for a medical he now says there's a delay. Club fed Brennan at MEN true gen - agent still negotiating

Interesting that we are talking about Otamendi taking over from Mangala but when you look at him this isnt his preferred position. I see him more in Vinnie's position and we're only talking about the LCB role because of Mangala's link to Valencia.

This maybe one where we can doma deal that would cover a number of positions, especially if Vinnie takes a turn.

Didn't Otamendi play with Mangala's at Porto?

Yep they did and it's definitely a Vinnie gets injured/suspended scenario. As I said Denayer is a good chap but at the moment he aint gonna stop Ronaldo and Benzema as we've seen and out we go.

According to Guillem Balague, Otamendi is done, 45M Euros, 5 yr contract, no City player going on loan.
