This run in the team will do him a world of good as he has everything in his locker to be an incredible defender.
Irrespective he was in total control in everything he did. We had an excellent defensive line in the most part, they pushed up as a unit and caught whu offside time and time again.
Mangala would have been my mom, but Navas edged it on the basis that he had two assists, a good game but crucially wore good old traditional black boots - a rare commodity indeed and good to see!
It wasn't a slur no way.
Will be good to see him up against Kane in a few weeks away at the Lane.
He was never me,me,me but always you, you, you

He was solid and his pace is a great attribute, especially dealing with Valencia who relies on his pace.
Valencia seemed to murder Mangala with his pace at upton Park, but yesterday Mangala seemed to have him in his pocket.

I thought Navas was MOTM, he was excellent yesterday apart from the brainfart of a backpass. Him and Zaba tore Cresswell a new arsehole, I hope all the furore and rumour about us being in for him will stop now as he was found out yesterday.

Navas MOTM, followed by Mangala.
Both get unfair stick; especially Navas.

If Mangala is in a better position to press an opponent than Kolarov or Fernando for instance, there is no reason why he shouldn't continue to press while his teammate occupies Mangala's vacated position. Football is a fluid game, players have to be adaptable and flexible. Doesn't bother me one bit that Mangala does this, it's a harmless trait.

Navas was very good yesterday, which is a rare thing. He doesn't get unfair stick, he is genuinely trash most weeks. One good game doesn't change that.

How did Zabs not get a mention?
He was running the show from right back in the first half.

Mangala ended up at RB yesterday and was going to press the ball into RM, when does it stop, at the GK? In this instance he stopped and tried to get back to his LCB position but was caught in no mans land when the back was swung in. You either press or stay, but dont get caught in two minds.

Yep, MOTM for me. First half he was everywhere. That performance was reminiscent of the Zaba of a few years ago.

I hope he stays this season, excellent start for his partnership with Vinny. Not easy to get passed those two!
Otamendi can replace good old Demi.

It will be very odd replacing Mangala with Otamendi, its obvious who is getter the better deal out of it and 25 million pounds !!!
I will be pissed off if this goes through with Mangala getting replaced.

Surely to goodness we are not considering letting him go now. Even in Swales's darkest days, we didn't do anything as dumb as this, did we......
