Barely anything do to and managed somehow to get himself booked. I suppose if he hadn't no-one would have known he was there.

had a better first half when he also thumped the post with a great effort. As you suggest he had bugger all to do second half and picked up a yellow, perhaps needs to ensure he maintains focus when not under pressure though it's a harsh criticism based on his first 180 mins for us

I want so much to scream this guy's praise, but I am really trying to rein everyone in at the moment so we don't build him up into a a fictional superhero he couldn't possibly live up to.

Some of you lads are hard to please! Yes of course it's early days but the two games he has looked good overall, unlucky not to score tonight.
Expect we will see him in the side for a run now.

Looking good at the mo but let a few things through. Hoping he is the future of our defence, especially after the reported billion pound payment ............ up-front of course; FFP and all that!

This. How he responds to having a less than stellar performance (because he is going to have one at some point) is going to be important.

this.

maybe we can see what happens. big against our biggest rivals means something, no? i think we need to give the lad some time to show us regularly what he can do. he has a lot of qualities and desire to succeed.

long term...you want he or dm?

hummels was never happening, and nor does he even have the pace anyway...the potential is immense...and the quality is not that far off either...

colour me excited...

Let's see how he copes with two games a week over an extended period and a wet Wednesday in November first. But so far, so good.

Showed good pace a few times last night and even managed to not concede with Boyata next to him, so the makings are definitely there, but as a City fan, I still expect Britain's most expensive defender to turn into a Savic style nightmare by Christmas

looked solid again but not much to do so its hard to judge. his pace was on display again though and man he's quick.
he could afford to work on his passing out of the back though.

i actually expect him to start vs. Roma after getting the weekend off vs Hull

I don't think we've got Roma this weekend, so thank god he won't have to play that match. However I expect he'll line up against Hull.

Good job we have a massive squad

So far it's Roma and Hull on Saturday and Porto and Roma on Tuesday.

are we playing Roma in Rome or at Hull on Saturday ? A logistical nightmare.

Have we got enough sets of away kit ?

you don't think 3 matches in about a week is too much given that he supposedly hadn't played in a competitive fixture in the last 6 months or so?

Could be the Count will rest him, but certainly we won't be playing him during the Roma game this weekend.

Just watched a bit of the full Sheff Wednesday game and was not overly pleased to see Mangala give the ball away on the edge of our area in the first two minutes. Do that in the Premier League and you're a goal down.

How many white players get referred to as an "animal"?

Cheers
