he did the same at Middlesbrough only to have it chalked off as Huckerby (I think) was offside despite Tiatto running from inside the City half & not bothering with what Huckerby was up to.

Bosvelt was excellent for us. I loved watching him play, he read the game brilliantly and was even better than Hamann at buying a foul.
I'm with you on Bosvelt,
Arni Arason became a favourite due to the spuds game, and I don't think anyone's mentioned Vass.

as a polishman, to me it has to be kazimierz deyna. phenomenal player. unfortunately you had to be 30 year-old to be allowed western transfer in poland back in the day. in his prime he was one of the best offensive midfielders in the world. then-army club, legia warsaw, had taken him from my club, so he could avoid 2-year obligatory national service, and he developed to a phenomenal player. first ever polish player to play in the english first division.

Had a soft spot for Trevor Morley. Not great but never hid, no matter how bad he was. Ditto the unfortunate John Macken.David Connor gave everything in Allison's teams when asked to do a man marking job, usually on Alan Ball, and would then get dropped.Couldn't play but ran Jimmy Armfield into the ground in one league cup game.

Brilliant keeper but can't say he wasn't appreciated; won City Player of the Year award in both the 1991–92 and 1993–94 seasons.

Asa Hartford. One of the the best and most consistent players to pull on the shirt. Probably the most underated player ever. Not shy on scoring the odd goal either!
Willie Donachie was just about the best left back in the league for a number of years. Another top player who seems to go under the radar when talking about previous City players.

Gerard Wiekens. Cultured player who was an excellent servant of the club in some dark times.
Also had a unique record in that in his 6 seasons at City he always played in a different division each year
1997/8 - Relegated to League 2 (League 1 as it is now)
1998/9 - Promoted to League 1 (p/offs)
1999/00 - Promoted to Prem
2000/01 - Relegated to League1
2001/02 - Promoted to Prem
2002/03 - Played in Prem again and left
A rather unique City career, at a time when the club was up and down like a whores knickers on a sailors payday.

He had a rather unique career overall. He only played for two clubs, Veendam and City. After his years with City he went back to Veendam and played there for another 5 seasons.
