They are not overrated. They only started playing when they knew they had to score. And when they started playing, they scored 3 goals.

That's how I seen it. Bayern just chilled until they could do it no more and had to start playing.

Can't believe that Stelling has just said that the Boateng deflection was a realistic chance for the Rags. Unbelievable Jeff!

PS. Has Wiggy had a facelift? Even my Mrs said it, been on the botox or something.

Did Moyes really say in his post match interview that the players they had had a quiet word in the earholes of had agreed to join them? If so is'nt that tapping up?

Thought that myself. Probably just said yes as they felt sorry for Moyes. No actual intention of signing though

And to think our whole World cup is based around him. Recipe for disaster.

The best 2 results I could've hoped for today.

Great for Simeone and great for Atletico Madrid.

We should have knocked out Barca.

We bottled it. Had we done our job properly, we would be in with a big chance of winning the Champions League. Chelsea have, make no mistake about that. Black mark against Pellegrini.

Having said that, if we were still in it, we would have no chance of winning the Prem imo. We would pick up too many injuries.

This is all down to knackering ourselves out in the domestic cups imo. The last decent game Negredo played was a dead rubber v West Ham. Again poor management by Pellegrini. I hope that, now he has a trophy, he will do his job properly next season & concentrate on our best players being fit for the most important games.

Agreed Ted. If we stick in one or two EDS players to the 25 to add to Lopes and replace Micah Lescott Barry etc as the home grown contingent they've got to play in the League Cup matches. If we go out early so be it. The quadruple is a fantasy.

Last night showed Moyes' limitations as a manager. They were compact, playing okay and looking quite likely on the break for the first hour and they kind of deserved their lead. In that sense his prepared tactics were quite astute.

His failure again was an inability to affect the game from the touchline. As soon as Bayern scored, Stretford crumbled. Why he left Shrek, who had a hopeless game, on the pitch and took off Wellbeck, who was working his bollocks off, carrying that counter-attacking threat and was their best player by far over the two legs, I'll never know. (Incidentally, I often wonder whether I'm the one person in the world who thinks Wellbeck is UNDERrated). Moyes is either useless (unable to see how the game is going) or weak (unwilling to upset his star player). I think it's probably the former. The number of leads Stretford have surrendered this season, coupled with the glaringly obvious gaps that teams have exploited and he has been unable to plug from the dugout seem to confirm what I've always thought - that he's more of a training ground coach than he is a matchday manager.

Either way, long may it continue!

All of Moyes' teams have been parasite teams when against decent opposition. Preston were the same. His standard method was to defend like fuck & then hope to nick it from a set piece etc, whilst also kicking the shit out of the opposition. When that failed, he was generally fucked. The only time Everton played football, was when the oppo was poor, or occasionally, City,as he had the players/fans wound up to hate us.

Utd now are like Everton.

I think they look weaker and more boring under pep. Can't speak about their domestic league as haven't watched them in it. But in Europe they don't look as good at all.

Against us, they were immense & a class above Barca.

Like us, they are not often at their best & don't need to be. If they play Chelsea, & underperform, Chelsea will beat them just like they beat us.
