New forest manager. I give it six months, can't believe this guy has got another job. A terrible manager for my money.

Must say most people in Nottingham are loving the appointment of Pearce. Hope he does well myself

It's going to be interesting to see how he copes in the Championship.

Not sure how he will get on.Just can't forget we managed something measly like 10 home goals all season with him in charge.

At present Forest are doing fairly well.I can't see them gaining promotion but assume that will be the plan for Pearce next season.

In fairness, he did keep us up that season, when we had a bunch of disinterested journymen playing for us. It may have been mind numbingly boring, but it kept us in the P/L, paving the way for Frank and then the rest is history.

Decent little FA Cup run along the way too, although we were worse than shite at Blackburn in the quarter final

They were linked with the likes of Neil Warnock, Steve Clarke, Gianfranco Zola, and Malky Mackay. I can't believe they have gone with him.

Warnock turned them down - maybe the others didn't go for Forrest?

Financially Pearce was on similar purse strings to Royle. However Stu was able to keep us up. I wish him bucketloads of success as long as its nott against us. Forest deserve to be in the Premier league IMO.

He performed a miracle keeping us up with a transfer budget of three n six. Really unfair what some say of him. And he never says anything awful about us. Good luck to him. I don't mind Forest either

I agree.
Very likeable lad, our former player, our former manager. I hope he is successful and finally brings them to premier league. But a good manager he is not. I had MASSIVELY blue-tinted glasses on during his tenure and only realised how..average he was one he was gone. It will be interesting to see tho how he does there. If there is a league in world football where Stu may succeed, it is Championship. Grinding out results for 40-odd games is a tough task tho. Good luck!

Agree with you both.

He's not a great manager by any means but his resources were extremely limited during his time with us. The football was dire but we were severely restricted on the type of players we could bring in. He did keep us up which was his main target.

I don't have a great deal of confidence in his ability to do well at Forest but I wish him all the best and would like to see him do well.

He had to do the job with one hand tied behind his back. His biggest mistake was spunking any money we did have on Samaras. But he kept us in the league. Had he not done that would Thaksin have bought us? I hope he does well.

Yeah. But you never thought you would see David James play up front did you? We've had worse...

I remember that season well unfortunately!!
My abiding memory is from the home derby, I remember the full backs weren't allowed to pass the half way line under him, can't remember which one it was, but they passed the halfway line, looked nervously at the bench, then ran back into position, how times have changed!! but one thing we can all be proud of is we kept at it, kept turning up, and all renewed....

Where were we when we were shit? we were at the Etihad, watching Pearce's team.

How can any City fan not look back fondly at those days? especially now we feast on what Pellegrini serves us!!

Good luck Psycho.
