Aguero may be ready, may be not. Jovetic may be ready to start his city career with a bang, then again, maybe not. Pellegrini has to be trusted to make the right choices up front, that's about it really. I want to see Jovetic make a big statement. We can all see he's capable of it, so why not Sunday? I can't see Pellegrini starting anyone else but Edin

It is my opinion that we really do need him at Klanfield in some capacity. For me he will be the difference in us becoming Champions or runners up this season. Maybe I am being selfish, but I think Club comes first. We pay his wages. I would not like to think that he might be recuperating, and taking his rehabilitation at a nice leisurely pace at City expense to prepare for the World Cup. A week Sunday will be a defining moment in our season. For me he simply has to play in that game. We cant keep relying on the bipolar Dzeko and out of form Negredo.

Really?..we played him against Barca and he was crap...clearly not fit .

Edin for me on Sunday. I'd only put Sergio on if we desperately need to.

There are two City teams.

One is a top class side which 'gives you a chance' at the back, misses a few chances themselves, is occasionally totally crap but sometimes fantastic.

The other is: 'The Best Team On The Planet'.

'The Best Team On The Planet', has Aguero in it. Fit.

The last time we saw 'The Best Team On The Planet', Aguero started the game, then went off injured. Nobody has seen that team again since that day; just an attempt to recreate it.

If Liverpool had a choice of Suarez or Dzeko, & chose Dzeko, we would all say "thank fuck for that". They will be saying "thank fuck for that" if Aguero doesn't start.

IF FIT, Aguero starts & we probably win.

Trouble is Ted, during his first injured spell the best team on the planet carried on as if nothing had happened. 2nd time it went a bit dodgy.

I think we'll finish the season very powerfully either way.

It wasn't the same, it was just a very good imitation, because everyone was fresh & Negredo was playing well. If the rest of the team play at 100% they will beat just about anyone, without Aguero.

But Aguero is often the player who gets it all flowing (and scares the shit out of the opposition). It was evident even during that spell, as soon as Aguero came on, he would score.

Aguero to come on for the final half hour methinks. Pellegrini will be keen to get him back in action as soon as, but he won't want to risk another injury by throwing him back into the fray full tilt. We will need him fit for the final 7 games and not just Scouse

Nasri signging, rumors of Kompany being offered, and now this:

Manchester City hope Sergio Aguero will sign his new £210,000-a-week deal before the start of the new season.

The Premier League champions have made it clear to the Argentina striker that he is pivotal to their future, along with captain Vincent Kompany, and talks have gone well.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have made no secret of their admiration for Aguero, 26, but City want to wrap up a new improved five-year deal overtaking the current one which runs to 2017.

Aguero was dogged by niggling injuries last season, but still scored 28 goals in 34 games.

I know I can be a pessimistic coont but my head is telling me this lad is never gonna be the same again. Remember Owen. Same size, physique and similar attributes. Never recovered from serial ham string injuries. If we give Kun a five year contract on £50 mill and the worst happens we will be well and truly shafted. Hopefully it wont affect his brain in the same way it obviously affected Owen's,lol

He was crocked repeatedly last season but still managed 28 goals in 34 games so if he stays fit he should bang in 30+ in the PL alone.
If we get a fully fit Sergio in every game then winning the Chumps League and the PL will be a realistic outcome IMO because at his best he is seriously better than any other striker in the PL and vying for best striker honours in Europe.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.
