The view from the Away End

Image

I hate having to wait until Monday night for our game, but it has given me an extra day to check out the away fans this week. It looks like the Chelsea fans don't loathe us as much as Spuds fans do, but its a close call. Apparently we are arrogant, abuse the FFP rules and are the new rags !!! ( I only saw one poster who thought rag fans were worse than us ). Still, to be compared to them in any form is offensive to me. They have also be trolling Bluemoon, and it looks like they are making decisions based on that.

Having said all that, there are many sensible comments, and the general recognition that this will be a tough test for them. Its almost an even split between loss, win and draw. At least they don't expect to be mauled at The Etihad.

COME ON CITY

Team Selection

  Cech
Ivanovic   Cahil   Terry   Azpi
                   Luiz
     Ramires          Matic
Willian                          Hazard
                   Eto'o

My favourite

We're gonna go there and play 18th century football.

And the rest …

Our only -very slim - chance of overhauling Citeh is if we win the psychological war and Jose gets inside Pellegrini's head as he does with Wenger

One thing Jose will be is predictable. Safety first. But I agree that Pelligrini has the far harder decisions to make tactically.

Man City is on the roll and I believe our team can break their streak. I have high hopes and they better be keen with Dzeko!

Don't be silly this is not a must win game. A draw keeps us 3 behind and with city still having to go to united, liverpool and arsenal they will drop points. A draw would be a very good result and I'd bite your hand of for one right now!

I simply don't see us winning this going out trying to play "football". Be cynical as hell, overload the midfield and then use Hazard and Willian on the counter. And i don't care if the media calls us boring or whatever, its the results that count.

Aguero out for a month. If you take him out I don't think there's that much of a gulf in class between us.

City and their manager deserve all the plaudits their receiving. Don't be bitter about it, give credit where credit is due. They smashed all top teams so far this season, went toe-to-toe with Bayern, and I'm pretty sure Barca will receive a good hiding. Pellergrini has done a great job, you don't need trophies to be considered a top manager (sorry Moyes).

Everyone thinks were gonna get smashed, can't see them scoring more than 3, we have conceded 2 goals in our last 9 matches.

Best attack vs best defense, should be a thrilling encounter

It will be a good test for this emerging Chelsea team. City are stronger on paper, even without Aguero and have a 100% home record - so no worries then! They beat Bayern but as someone pointed out, the group result was already in the bag and Bayern also ripped them apart in the first 20 minutes

Dzeko, Negredo and Jovetic. All better than what we have up top. I hope I'm wrong but I think we might get a hiding!

A hiding? Behave…This season weve stopped better players than Negredo, let alone Dzeko or Jovetic

I predict a tight game but I certainly believe we are capable of winning this game.

Jose is obviously very confident and treating Pellegreni with contempt.

If we lose this game I suspect it could be quite difficult to get back in touch with City

No Aguero, no Nasri, no Milner, so City looking a bit light in those attacking midfield roles.

Despite City being top and gaining plaudits, I really do not rate Pellegreni. The guy has never won a major trophy in Europe in his entire career. The squad that he has is incredible but I doubt he can do it in the really big games. If he was such a big time manager, he would have won more trophies.

People accuse us of buying success and ruining English football. Last time I checked, we're in favour of FFP. Man City are not.

Now that United have imploded the glory hunters and little kids have all migrated across the city to the blue side of Manchester.

We have beaten this lot already this season and I'm confident we can at least get something from the game. Bring it on!!

I have plenty of respect for City but I'd be worried if I was a City fan, it will be their hardest home game of the season, they've already lost their hardest away game.

City are a better team than us but by the way City fans talk, you'd think they were the best team to of ever graced football

Good thing City are ultra attacking, it will present us with quite a few chances. Whether we take them or not is another matter.

City are on fire at home, so much squad depth and quality. I really hope we win this...
The only hole I see in their deep squad is Demichelis

I think it's going to be painful, tbh. A possible Man City master-class? It took Jose quite a few games at Real to finally suss Barcelona. Same here? They will bully us. Parking the bus won't work against this lot. 0-3 to City

You know we already beat them this season right?

4-0 Chelsea

Salah and Hazard give them hell wide!

I have been looking forward to this game for a while now. Last night's freak result doesn't change anything. If there is one team in this league that can go to the Etihad and get a win it's Chelsea. Just reading around and the sheer arrogance from the Man City fans is insane! I cannot wait for Monday night.

How many fouls will City get away with before the ref books them for fouling players trying to counter-attack? They will foul at every given opportunity to stop us breaking once we have won the ball. I'm certain they will be allowed to get away with it for almost the entire game before a few booking late on

I'm expecting pre-historic football from the odious one and his team of bus drivers. Chelsea seem to have turned from a club into a cult since he's come back. Hope we batter them. 3-0.

This match is curtains to them, if we win this. It would be interesting to do a post match thread with Chelsea fans views after City beat them.

I want Pellers to smash 'em! Most Chav's I know are alright and understand what it takes to win yet quite a few of those quoted seem to have forgotten where they came from. Or were they ever around back then?

We only hate Man Utd but Maureen is a first class cunt so let's win on Monday night with class and dignity and hopefully rack up a cricket score against them ...... Sweet !

"Best attack vs best defense, should be a thrilling encounter"

Funnily I remember the commentators saying this exact phrase before the Arsenal game then again at the start of the Spurs game. Lets hope we get the same result.

I liked the comment from the character who said "Good thing City are ultra attacking".

I really do like that description of us and it's a perfect assessment.

Firstly, thanks to CuteMancs

As and when I get chance I try to go on the oppositions forums to see the "post match reactions" which is quite often as enlightening...

If CuteMancs doesn't have time (no pressure LOL) then may be someone else (who has the time) can get the reaction whether or not we win? Ideally from the same forum that the pre-match comments come from?

As for the Chelski fans, I am surrounded by them (pre their own cash injection) and most are hoping for a draw as best outcome.

On a side, the lass at work who is a ST holder at WHL and was at the game on Wed's (as per usual) was in ore of the way played against them and argued with those around her that Rose was a red card. Openly told me that in 20+ years the best team she'd seen at WHL.

It's the lack of knowledge about us that gets you. So much rubbish written in those comments. Seems we know far more about their club and players than they do about ours.

Cheers ......I will take a look at their forums on Tuesday evening and post something. I think the thread should come with a health warning though ! After the Spuds game week, I did take a quick peek at what they were saying, and it was just horrible, vile rubbish. Apparently City bought the officials, and only won because of two dodgy decisions. Thats the least of it, none of their comments were worth repeating on here, or anyway.

Still the good news is we will have the last laugh :)

If there is a side who can beat us at home it's Chelsea.

Still, not gonna happen.
