His positioning and anticipation are superb. He misses a fair few times but you just can't argue with his goal scoring record.
I think he's our most natural goalscorer, but he can't carve out a chance in the same way Aguero or Negredo can.
His advantage over Negredo imo is that Dzeko is very two footed which imo is important for a striker.

We do have a lot of games coming up, but I think we have Aguero and then two choices for the other striker.
Contrary to the wanker reporter's question, it's just as much bad news for Negredo as it is for Dzeko in terms of playing time.
Edit: And Pellers has the opportunity to send out a great message to the squad when he names Dzeko/Negredo as the starting strikers this weekend. 11 goals between them in the last three matches, that sort of form deserves faith.

Possibility the greatest back up striker around.
The problem is he's not a great back up striker. His performances tend to be much better when he gets a solid run in the team as opposed to being the scapegoat for not scoring at some midtable rabble after coming on at 80 mins.

I rate Dzeko a ton and think we're very fortunate to have him as a 3rd choice striker. When in the mood, he's a brilliant finisher with some overall great play as well. That said, the main reasons that I say 3rd choice are:
1. Aguero & Negerdo work harder to pressure the opposition defenders and midfielders to win the ball back or force a mistake.
2. Aguero & Negerdo are better outlets to hold the ball up when we are back in our own 1/3 and better at keeping possession when we are higher up the pitch. They have a better touch and are more mobile to easily link up with the rest of the team.
3. Aguero & Negerdo have more pace which gives us the ability to play the direct ball over the top. If a team tries to win the ball back in our own half (usually by pressing forward with a high defensive line), there's a good chance they will be punished in a matter of seconds by one well placed pass.
4. Aguero & Negerdo make jaw-dropping plays on a regular basis that you have to see the replay to believe. Both of them have skills in the top 5% of any player I've seen and combine it with a daring creativity to create truly special moments.
All three of them have been guilty of missing some chances this season, but luckily we've almost always been able to give them more before time runs out. Incredible when you think about it too, Dzeko would probably start at almost every other PL team except 1 or 2.
What a great time to be a City fan!

We are very lucky to have the strike force we have, Dzeko's goals tonight were excellent, very difficult finishes that he made look easy, problem is he often makes the easy ones look difficult!

Jekyll and Hyde comes to mind with Dzeko. He can be as Shite as he can be sublime. He was brilliant second half today but he was pathetic in the first half. The main thing for me is that he scores us goals on a regular basis so Im delighted he's our third choice striker.

What's there to discuss. Fuckin' great, isn't it. The likes of Chelsea or Arsenal would give they eye teeth for a 1st choice striker of his calibre. Great times.

Name a Premier League side in which he wouldn't be starting every game.
If you get past two, you're doing better than me.

You're not wrong there, he's so frustrating. I've always been a bit of a fan of Dzeko, but he often frustrates me so much I just want to see the back of him. He did it again tonight, first half just looked as if he couldn't be arsed, and skying everything.
Then he goes and scores a totally amazing goal, and is a different player all of a sudden.

Dippers. Possibly. If they play 1 up front then Suarez all day. 2 up front and i reckon Dzeko is better than Sturridge. So maybe none.

I figured them and Chelsea, not that he wouldn't start a lot of games, but I doubt he's start every game for them.
Filth would probably ship sicknote, spurs would definitely replace Soldado with him, Arsenal aren't over the moon with Giroud either.

Well, so far, most of you have totally - and predictably - missed the point :-)
