I think outclassed isn't far off a summary of that game. They were stronger in challenges, cleverer in winning free kicks, better movement off the ball, better first touch so their passing game benefitted a lot and had us chasing shadows at times.

Lyon are definitely the best women's team I have seen and definitely put into some perspective how good we are bearing in mind that in almost all the games we play we dominate the ball and the game.

No doubt Nick Cushing will have learned a ton from this game as will the players but I doubt it will help change the result in the second leg. I expect changes in the starting line up for the return.

For me there are a few players not really good enough for the absolute top level. Good enough for the english game maybe as we can win games with the odd goal but not against the best.

I felt it was a bit after the Lord Mayor's show tonight, that being the CL semi final. Lot's of changes reflecting the manager's thinking that he has to use the full squad especially with the FA Cup final just round the corner.

Birmingham are a very hard side to beat and the way we played tonight made it fairly impossible! For much of the first 50 ot 60 minutes I thought we were dreadful. Some of the simple passing that went astray was a joke and the lack of a good first touch made keeping the ball a non starter. Add to that poor attempts to force the game and we were lucky to get the draw. No surprise it was Lucy Bronze that came to the rescue.

Asslani continues to frustrate the hell out of me. She can't play a simple pass and if she doesn't pass she just gets caught on the ball. Works hard and wins balls back but for all the apparent skill she is so ofetn a waste of space. I like Izzy for her genuine effort but she also can't pass a ball and when she should turn with the ball in an attacking way shor goes backwards then when she is outnumbered and should play safe she tries something impossible and loses the ball.

Just so so frustrating. Well done Ellie Roebuck. Only 17 and being thown in was a big surprise to me but I though she did ok. Not overly tested I know but there was some confidence in there which was good. Good to see Megan Campbell back playing. Wow those long throws!

Cup final 5 o'clock BBC2, by which time I'll be legless after the early start. But I'll have a go

Well Done Ladies.

Loved the comment about them being treated as equals within the club and so it should be.

We are so much better than anybody else
