I also noted how wonderful he said Janusaj was for slicing a ball Corradi-like for a goal kick, muttering about George Best etc. McManaman brought some sanity to proceedings at HT by pointing out how Janusaj's ambling back contributed to the first goal.

There's the undertone of bigotry to Green's commentaries that Owen will never achieve. However, Owen does bring his own idiosyncratic brand of denseness to proceedings that I think will be the making of him in the years to come.

One of my favourites from Owen was in the Arsenal game. He said Negredo had took a poor touch but the ball sat up perfectly for him. Such a shame the poor boy doesn't understand the difference between a poor touch and a perfect set up touch. More interested in horses though isn't he?

The worst one for me was that he ended up being right about testing Pantillimon lower down, but he was suggesting it from headers where people are just basically trying to get the ball on target; as if they think 'hmm I'll head this corner down' when a fucking set piece comes in.
