The write attributes the win to the midfield trio of Silva Garcia and Ferny. What do you guys think?

I think Silva & Fernandinho were he best players on the pitch, along with Ribery, & Garcia did a much better job than Yaya has ever done for City in any European game (apart from in the attacking third).

Garcia plays better with 2 mobile players with him, imo. Toure isn't mobile and Garcia is poor in 4-4-2.

Zabman had Ribery in his pocket, imho.

Haven't read the piece as I swore I'd never read anything from that site again having subjected myself to some utter tripe they've wrote in the past.

I'd like to see Navas get some credit, it was him making himself available as an out ball for our keystone cops which ignited our performance, he drove us forward down the right and began linking well with Zaba and Silva, that's what initially gave us a foothold and we grew in confidence from there.

They all played their part though and aside from the horror show at the start to a man it was a great performance.

I thought Fernadinho was magnificent. He covered the ground, he made some great tackles and he also broke forward with skill and pace. It's great to have a central. midfielder who can play his way out of trouble in tight situations and avoid getting caught in possession. At the start of the season he just seemed ok to me but now he is settling in he is becoming one hell of a player for us.

I thought the midfield was excellent and really got to grips with the game as it wore on. Navas gaves us the outlet, Silva the creativity, Garcia was the screen and Fernandinho and Milner with the legs. Credit to Pellegrini as he started with a four man midfield at home against Bayern and switched to a five man midfield which I thought changed the game for us in the last 20 minutes. He stuck with that theory last night and if we'd have kicked off a 8pm instead of 7.45pm we would have thrashed them.

Agree with Kolarov being lax in defence and I don't think to expect anything more, although he has bean miles better going forward this season, but Richards might be finished as a big time player in City's team as it was like night and day when Zabaleta came on to replace him. Shame as he's been a rock for us. Lescott was walking proof for a reserve league that has regular competitive games in which first team players not in the first team can keep match sharpness.
