For all of you happy to see him go - do you think bringing Navas on instead of him would have had the same impact on Sunday?

I think bringing on Sane or Gundogan could have a similar impact.

Not happy to see someone with his talent go, but fine with it since his attitude stinks. Pep gave him a chance to stick around and fight for his place, and even praised his talent multiple times. But Samir said no. So goodbye.

Yes, but neither was available. And there sure as hell will come times this season when KdB, Silva et al won't be.

For what it's worth I agree with you but isn't the squad too fat (see what I did there) for it to be harmonious, especially with academy players coming in as well? I would guess that's a concern and then inconsistent (albeit very good when in the mood) players like Nasri will have to go.

Strange when you look back to that he said a few months ago:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... -guardiola

“When the pre-season is going to start I am going to be fresh so I hope that will help me and I will try to perform because when you have been out for so long you are more hungry when you come back. You don’t want to waste your time. You want to be back with a bang. If I stay working with Pep Guardiola, if he wants me, he’s just going to be a lucky man because I will be really hungry.

“I am the type of player for his philosophy and the way he likes his team to play so we are just going to see and on the first day of pre-season I will have a chat with him because I am going to be really hungry.”

Guess he came back too hungry

Too hungry in the off season more like!

Strange, he could have done well under Pep I reckon, but Pep seems to have a crystal clear vision of the team he wants and so be it.

He is an incredible athlete, but has a terrible touch and very little passing ability. Not surprised in the slightest that Pep didn't fancy

Yep, it seems we can't offload our driftwood without taking a serious hit. Hope the rumours of Bony off to China in January are true as we should get a serious fee for him.

True, but you could just as easily be describing Fernando there and he's still with us.

Fernando doesn't have the best touch or passing, but he has a brain and his touch isn't terrible.

Staggers me how many on here can't see that terrible touch. Not given a chance indeed, It's plain to see he'd be one of the first out the door

Very sorry to see Nasri go. I don't understand why he's going as he's a talented player and can be a game changer.

How are we doing for foreign quota? I'd heard - and it could be wrong - that we had to get rid of two from the squad and a third when Jesus arrives. We're getting rid of three now but why not keep Nasri until Christmas and then bin off the one of Nasri, Yaya and Fernando who was contributing least to the team effort come Christmas time?

Further confirmation that moving him on was a good move:

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... r-11829080

“Until the last moment he tried to get me stay, told me I was going to play, but I wanted a family club to give me love and a lot of minutes."

All about me, not about we. He's 29 years old and looking for "love" from his employers. City are much, much better off by not having players like that in the squad.
