The View From the Away End

Image

Not quite as bad as I expected, but I have a sneaking feeling, its going to get much worse in the days ahead - feel free to add

My favourite quote this week:

Last time someone tried to be smart with the OP vs Shitty we lost 6-1.

Easy Start:

Let's smash the feckers.

De Gea
Fabio Rio Vidic Evra
Nani Carrick Fellaini Kagawa
Rooney Van Persie

Let's smack the bitters!

3-1 win

Cannot see Moyes being bold enough to start Kagawa in this one.

Feel a lot more confident about this match.

Last time someone tried to be smart with the OP vs Shitty we lost 6-1.

For the first time in a while, I want to see the exact same team start twice in a row. Valencia and Smalling were brilliant today and therefore both deserve to play. I also want Kagawa to play, since we generally seem to struggle to create chances against City. That's why I want to throw Kagawa's unpredictability into the mix, even though we're a little exposed on the left. Hopefully Fellaini can plug that gap.

Toughest game of the season, probably all season long (in the premier league at least). Neither teams are in great form or have looked really impressive, so both will have a point to prove. Only person from our strongest 11 missing is Rafael, but hopefully Fabio plays in his place.

If City are going to come with the quickness of Aguero, Silva and Nasri, then I think you need a quick defender like Fabio or Raphael instead of the size of Smalling at right back

Play counterattacking football. City will surely come forward to attack at home and with Pelligrini as their manager. Try to snatch a goal on the counter from a strong defensive position.

If City manage to snatch a goal against that defensive lineup, then insert Nani for Cleverley and move Rooney up top to attack in earnest

The derby looks set to be a real cracker

Kompany's back and Yaya was in last game's scoresheet. And a morale boosting win for them. Not good news.
Positively for us, Rooney, RvP & Valencia on form. Defensively look more solid with Fellaini.

Same team as last match with just Young replcing Kagawa.

Predcitng a 2-0 for us!

Would that be MUFC related websites? There is tonnes of stuff on the web about our game last night!

noticed the lack of any reporting about our comfortable win and stylish goals. Meanwhile the rags looked pretty dull at home and almost contrived to cock it all up before finally scoring. Rooney and RVP both had miss of the season contenders as well, it was pretty shocking tbh.

Meanwhile, the only blurb i've seen about us is this blurb "UCL: United and City win, Juventus held" in an article on espn's soccernet.com

funny also how only one rag mentions "yaya on the scoresheet" not anything about it being a fucking fantastic goal. tossers.

Also think it's laughable how they are talking about coming to us with a defensive set up ... firstly, of course they will because moyes is their manager, they set up defensively at home now, let alone away to their main title rivals. Secondly, the last time they did that at ours, with fergie, they managed 0 shots on goal and lost to a kompany header, if i'm not mistaken.

fuck them, I am well up for this match and I hope that we utterly embarass those fucks.

Scum won 4-2 this included a howler (surprised) from the ref for the first goal and a howler from the keeper for van pussies goal. Nothing to shout about imo.

And where else do you think the OP has gathered all the quotes above? This picture in fact is the one the comment refers to when they say "Last time someone tried to be smart with the OP vs Shitty we lost 6-1" ... well if they did something like this back then, then they have jinxed this one too ...

Some more quotes ...

"I dont know I feel it could go the same way as the game went vs us at OT, Moyes is often very cautious in big away games and United are good in defence so far this season( bar the second last night), could be another 0-0, or 1-1. Dont think either team is an obvious winner at present."

"We're due a boring game against them, the last one at Etihad was a cracker and the one at Old Trafford in spite of having little improtance to it was also quite good. I guess the one that won them the title at Etihad through Kompany's goal was the last one that wasn't really all that great and it was mainly because we set up negatively."

Not very cheery, or looking forward to this one, are they?

There is a large picture of Rooney on the front AND the back page of the so called 'Manchester' Evening News.

Sky website has 'World Class Wayne' with four Utd sub headings unerneath, then it filicks over to Mourinho talking about tonight, then flicks over to a picture of Ronaldo on 'goals of the night' with one sub header featuring Yaya's goal.

Below that we have Di Canio, Bale talking about Real, Tour Of Britain, & Mourinho again. Moyes, Utd's revenue, Rodgers. Celtic. Boxing, Tennis, American Football, Cricket, Golf.

Then in the Video section, we have Rooney 200 goals, Ringside, NFL, Moyes again, Real Madrid.

Finally, at the bottom, amongst 8 other 'features' is Didi Hamman saying we can beat any team in the Champions League.

City are runners up in the Prem, Champions from the previous season & have just won a game 3-0 on their tv channel.

This is normal coverage for a team of that status ?

Nothing about the World class goal Yaya scored on SSN website difficult to find a write up about last night it if you was a blue. you have to select champions league then look way down the list to find anything about city.

When i watch tv , if it's not City, it might be BBC 4 about music. It is never ever sky and never ssn. Actually i really enjoy NPR and especially 'Car talk' . Switch to something else like 'Come dine with me'.

The more biased they are the greater the level of Schadenfreude.

How is it biased for a UK news outlet to show the goals of England's best player (who plays for the winningest club and reigning champion in the world's supposed best league for the world's biggest sport) after reaching a milestone accomplishment? Seems like a no-brainer to me....
