So from our title winning team weve changed (among others)

A Johnson
Tevez
Balotelli
De Jong
Barry
K Toure

Navas
Negredo
Rodwell
Jovetic
Fernandinho
Garcia
Demichlles

If we win the title its genius but Ill be surprised if we make top 3.

How I wish to see Tevez and Negredo playing together for city !

Two strikers who give their everything on the field like Tevez and Negredo would have been awesome to watch

On paper, the new team is stronger overall.

We are now stronger in each position, but our problem is the team haven't learnt to play together under the new regime.

When that happens, you will see how our team has improved and hopefully evolved.

We have the best squad in England. Im convinced were going to win the title back. I have not seen anything Chelsea or the rags that suggests we are inferior to them.

I actually felt the biggest loss last season was Johnson. Never a first choice starter and appaling lack of stamina for one so young but he was someone who could come on and change a game with 20 minutes to go - as he did 5 or 6 times in the title winning season.

You are on top form today, you have been missed!! 100 percent agree and said it on here a couple of times, just re watch the season review of the title season to see his importance. Bad move for player and club him leaving.

Agree. Only problem was he thought he should start every game, but when he did start he was awful for 60 mins then was hauled off.

Can't blame him for wanting to leave to play more, but we did miss his impact from the bench. It was made worse by Sinclair being a flop, probably due to internal politics (Marwood wanted him and Mancini didn't so ruined any confidence he had)

He came on and put the gloss on some games, so considering we won on goal difference I guess his impact mattered but I don't recall him changing any game coming off the bench.

The biggest loss for me last year was hunger.

It was the year before he came on, scored two winners against Blackpool and Newcastle and the equalizing goal against Sunderland.

In the year we won the title, he didn't alter a single result.

If nothing else he gave defences something different to think about & put us on the front foot.

Navas IS better than him though. Negredo is doing a pretty good job of replacing Balotelli ( he's passed him already for last season hasn't he ?)

We don't have a nige or Barry, but Fernandinho & Rodwell are better alround players. Jovetic is a class act but we have to see if he can do it in the Prem.

Tevez is irreplaceable. So that one isn't really fair.

We have to see if Demicellis turns out better than Kolo, but Nastasic is better than fucking Savic.

If we used def mids we would be short but we're very very much ahead on the whole imo.

And we struggled to open up Blackburn away till he came on second half!

Don't take this the wrong way son but unless you're of a certain vintage you've not gotta clue what shit is. There have been enough threads on what we have had that is shit but let me just offer two words - Robert Taylor

Sorry mate those times he came on we were already winning 2 or 3 nil. I remember him starting, diving and winning us a penalty though.

Two more - Neil Heaney.

Johnson did well in the games he came on as a sub. But in the title year he definitely won us the penalty for the first goal in the home game v Fulham in the snow (with an outrageous dive) so to say he didn't influence the results of any games is not really right.

At the time I thought that the signing of Bob showed that we were really a 'big club' after all - demonstrating that powerful action of signing the player that scores against you. It was quite a turn-on until his performances for CITY showed just what level we were at!!

That Gillingham game - what an emotion draining day that was - wow!! For those that think times are hard now - well just look up the detail of our victory at Stoke in 1998 - 5 - 2 and still we got relegated the year before the Wembley play-off final.

Just imagine that journey home afterwards - makes the trip back from Cardiff recently, feeling disappointed and moaning, seem like being a spoilt child.

I know that it is different now - and there is no point comparing to the past etc. etc. - but for those that never experienced those lows (most too young I expect) - I partly feel sorry for them - this new CITY that can build you up to knock you down again - well just amateur really compared to the level they used to really let you down.

Carefully forgetting all the bad buys in first list.

Tevez and Johnson wanted out. Balotelli became too much of a distraction and wasn't justifying it on the pitch anymore. Barry and Kolo were done. Letting De Jong go and bringing Garcia in was massive fuck up though.
