Not even on the bench.
What a waste and if things do not change would not be surprised if he wants off and I would not blame him.
Could do a better job than Feranandinho who looks like a more expensive Gelson Fernandez at the moment.

I swear we looked 10000000000 times more steady with Gaz Baz in the middle.

Can't believe he's not even getting in the squad. We really miss him. Has a calming influence on the team and allows Yaya to get forward.

I'd have him in the team over our new expensive Brazilian recruit.
No danger, maybe the penny is dropping.

Saved me making that point.
Rodwell for example knows how much of a cheating , deceiving cnut Gollum is, he's played in that regime. Barry knows how the prem works he's been there god knows how many years. I expected Ferdi from the start to be introduced slowly, coming on in mid second half to get a few weeks and games under his belt as Gazbaz slowly reduces his playing time. I saw Ferdi in munich only recently and i think he needs time. He will vome good though i am sure of it.
Rodwell doesn't need to win us over neither does gazbaz.

If you could clone the current team, a 4-3-3 with Barry plus Yaya & Fernandinho, & Negredo as a lone striker would beat the current starting 11 imo.

I don't buy the 'Barry has no pace' argument. Yes he's not the quickest but Scholes never had any pace and he played until he was 38.
I'd rather have someone who was positionally good and experienced like Barry rather than buying someone who relied on their pace to rescue situations made by their own lack of anticipation/ positional sense.
If we're planning on challenging on 4 fronts this season there will be plenty of game time for everyone, can't see why we're letting him go.

Mancini, rightly, knew Barry was key to City's success & that was part of the problem imo, because he played him even when he was carrying an injury, so much did he value him. He played him as often as he could get him on the pitch.
Barry was tired & injured some of the time & he's not an effective player when not 100%.
I wonder if he will be the same player now the Count has lost faith in him though. Personally, I would have started this season with Barry & built the midfield around that. If Barry seemed to have waned, only then would I consider getting rid.

We should not let him go. The team certainly misses him, no doubt whatsoever.

Gareth Barry was fucked and made way too many costly errors.
Not convinced by Fernandinho.
Would like to see Rodwell involved again. He has something

The errors crept in when he was played into the ground, and he was certainly not the most error prone even then. I agree I'd like to see Rodwell involved more though.

The first team/bench they showed on BT had Rodwell in and no Garcia (about 50 minutes before KO). Half an hour later it had Garcia and no Rodwell. Injury?
Anyway isn't this what the Sun and the Mail do? Everyone says you have to have 22 players and then as soon as somebody doesn't play it's they are unhappy/badly treated/causing discontent/looking to leave/manager's a fool etc.
Some good potential tabloid journos on here today.

I really hope not. He is one player I would love to see make it, he does seem to have what's needed with his cameos at the end of last season, just needs a bit of game time.
I'd be pretty upset with the manager if he didnt give him a chance when fit. I'd quite like to see him and Milner doing the role of yaya and fernandinho in the league cup game to see how they could manage together, as I think its a viable option and that we wouldnt lose much with that combination of energy and industry
