I like Sterling, Hodgson is still a dick though. No Lescott? Seriously?

Didn't Sterling star for the U21s in the thrashing of the jocks - at least that shows there is a bit of progression - play well for the U21s and you can get in the first team.

I'd rather that than, sign for United and you get in the first team regardless of form (or ability)

We are all quick to ask for promising youth players to be accelerated into the senior team after we fuck up in major tournaments.

Roy starts doing that.

We slag him off.

I was there for the U21's game he was alright but nothing special against a pretty poor (on the night) Scotland side. Honestly the guy that stood out as a cut above that night was Jonjo Shelvey, he ran that team and it was obviously he was a little better than the others.

Stirling is all flare id like to see him step up and become a good player but im not sure he's ready yet

Ha ha ha, I thought he'd be there just to sell a few extra shirts.

What would your squad be if you were Roy?

Give the man a break ffs. We don't exactly have huge numbers of world class players to choose from.
He has to try and make the best of what is an average bunch quite frankly.

To me that's not a bad squad. Plenty of youngsters, I'm excited to see if Sterling and Barkley can step it up, both are talented players.
Also pleased to see Lambert there again. And Sturridge as well can be a real asset if he plays like he has done so far this season.

Re rags players. Smalling is a bit of a joke. But tbf to Welbeck he has done a decent job for England in the past. Cleverley is not brilliant but England hardly have a wealth of upcoming talent in that area.
Young isn't terrific either but which winger would you have instead of him?

Really? There's a reason he's ended up at Sunderland. Not much in it mind.

Not me; he's guaranteed to always include a few names that journalists have collectively been going gaga for in the preceding two weeks
