As much as needing a centre half we need a leader out there. If Demechelis/Pepe/whoever is that man, then go and get him.

Thing is Pepe just isn't that good. Having said that, he is million miles better than Garcia. Fucking hell he is horrible.

in fairness to garcia he is not a centre back.... well, he's not really a midfielder either.

He's not that good 'sometimes'. But on some occasions he is fantastic. Vincent Kompany for instance, wasn't 'that good' for most of last season, similarly Lescott, but both have put in some awesome performances over their City careers & won us some big games with great defending at crucial moments.

Imo Nastasic has so far not been 'that good' on any occasion, just average, & never won us any big games, just been n the pitch when it happened once or twice; it's all about what he 'may' do rather than what he does.

Pepe is similar standard to Vinny & JL imo; turns in some big fuckoff performances, amongst a lot of average stuff, & therefore sometimes wins big games with his defending. That makes him miles better than Nastasic imo & one of the only decent, experienced defenders currently playing football, anywhere.

For that reason, I can't see Real letting him go unless they are desperate for the money.
