Best City debuts

Last night made me realise we've had quite a few good debut performances in recent years. What's your favourite?
SWP's (re)debut was just an amazing day up at Sunderland, scored two and looked brilliant. Loved Bellamy's debut aswell. He had loads of people doubting the signing and he silenced all the doubters with a great performance and a great goal.

Dont class that as a debut. It was his return. Best debut was samaras, looked like he would be sent off within 3 minutes. He managed to last the remainder of his sub appearance and then walked around the pitch clapping everyone.

I seem to remember Nasri had a good debut - Aguero too, and Milner.

To be fair to SWP I saw his debut against the scum in Denise Irwin's testimonial match which was also the first one George Weah played in. Weah was past his sell by date even then but you could see he'd once been a great player even so. SWP was special though and really should have grown as a player, in both senses o the word.

We lost 2-0 and the highlight was jeering Irwin going off with an injury after 11 minutes.

An injury caused by george weah with a ridiculous lunge if memory serves me right

Trevor Francis at Stoke. Scored twice, we won three one, thousands of Blues there, over half the ground and we thought we were gonna win the league.
Great day.

swp's return for me as well from recent memory - although fans of midfield dynamo's will have enjoyed fernandinho's last night

I was there too, & when he skinned those geezers & smacked the ball into the net in front of us, I thought 'how the fuck will anyone stop this geezer ?' In fact, hardly anyone could, but of course he was injured half the time & the rest of our team was average, then Swales sold him.

Ted do you remember the club saying he got injured so much because he was so fit.At the time i thought i was misreading what they said but apparently his muscles were as tightly strung as guitar strings so perhaps they were right.

I remember hearing the suggestion that he was like a finely tuned sprinter rather than a footballer, so the rough & tumble used to take it's toll more than on others. No idea whether it was bollocks or not.

Ali Bernabia against Birmingham. Signed by Keegan on a whim, trained with the team for just a day, we had no idea who he was, and he just destroyed Brum.

I agree with all of you who have gone with Trevor Francis. He was frighteningly good.

But in modern times (heh heh) Aguero's wasn't too bad either.
