I'm going to be in Sofia on Monday night and wouldn't mind watching the game with some fellow Blues. Anyone out there?

I was in Sofia a couple of times, I must say I enjoyed the experience. Think I would have been shocked to find a boozer though.

I'm sure we're trying to arrange a tie-up with Bulgarian Cola Company, but it may be too late for Monday.

I don't know either but, having been to Sofia a couple of times, I would say you should find a bar showing it pretty easily.

Was in a bar there in early September or October. It was showing highlights of vintage City games (Jihai featured in most). I'm pretty sure it's a 'whisky bar'.

Have emailed a Belgrade-based friend who lived for a long time in Sofia. Will let you know if I can provide more info...

Try Murphy's. Bound to be people there, and safe, and often good atmos for big matches. Man City not really on the Bulgarian radar when I was there. Most Bulgarians support Liverpool or Man Utd (CSKA fans mainly) or Chelsea (Levski). As Man City are blue and hate reds, I'm guessing he'll be more lucky with Levski fans. I've never met a bona fide Bulgarian Man City fan.

There are bars with screens in the park near Orlov Most (Eagle Bridge), not sure if they just show football during big tournaments. Or just hang out in bars near the Asparuhov when Levski are playing (NB - no booze an hour before the match) wearing Man City kit and try to strike up a convo...perhaps...

Indeed he does. In a travelogue published in 1991.
