Why Are City Playing In The Arse-End Of Nowhere On The 10th

Against Arsenal?

Clearly this is a match set up for the likes of Milner, Pants, Lescott, Kolorov. Just not sure why we are risking a match to a stadium of around 300 around a field of igloos for this match.

Just for exposure I imagine. We have covered parts of Africa and the East, now the north.

I'm not sure which PL team is the most popular in the Scandinavian countries, but playing up there will only bag ourselves a few new supporters and continue our growth.

As long as we come away unscathed and our team has chance to gel more, the game will provide more playing time for those who need it.

Liverpool have shitloads of Scandies following them. Dunno why. Molby, Riise etc perhaps?

I can only speak for Sweden, but there Liverpool is probably the most popular one. There are of course a lot of devil worshippers as well. And for some reason Spuds are very popular, especially among journalists.

Mostly because they used to win the league every year, but there are some fans who just took a liking to them. Liverpool & rags are the main teams because of sustained success though & their kids generally pick it up from the parents, but I'm also seeing kids with Barca & Bayern Munich shirts here in Norway.

Most of the people round this particular area of Norway are Liverpool fans & tbf, the rags I know were supporting them at that time & getting the piss taken out of them year in year out, so they have earned the right to give it back. They are generally much better people than rags at home though & I had many texts congratulating City when we won the league.

If we start winning regularly, there will be many 1000s of Scandi blues in 20 years time, as the kids start to take an interest.

Just to add; old Liverpool pissheads like Molby & Jimmy Case play a friendly near here every year (not sure if they did this year) & what a fucking scam. I know some of the oppo who played against them, & they've played Champions Lg and all kinds, but they just play for free whilst those fat old piscans get paid loads & get shitfaced.

We used to play games at Rochdale, Bury, Oldham pre-season. Glory Days.

IMO, other than the usual considerations like journey time and jet lag etc., where we play is not so important as who we play and when. Scheduling the Arse as our opposition in our last pre-season friendly is a great move as it'll have a 'friendly' title but should be competitive because the players will be pretty sharp by then and vying for their places in the first 11 against Newcastle.
I'm looking forward to the game for that reason and not because it will necessarily charm millions of Fins into buying the new kit.

A tasty little bonus indeed!

I miss those games. There were four times as many blues than the home support.

I always remember going to boundary park when George Weah played. Different class and we ended up winning 5-1 or something to that degree.

Lol
Much better effort Dev than anything you posted recently. For the record, I find it all pretty odd myself. Oh, and forked out 78 euros for the ticket. To a friendly. Amazing stupidity butbwhat can you do?

I remember going to see us play Emley Moor many years back. Just one stand and rope round the rest of the pitch.

I live practically in sight of their old ground (when the storm clouds aren't obscuring it)

Surprised it wasn't more often tbh. I remember us playing quite a few games in Norway & assumed Sweden & Finland would have been on the agenda too.

We've been to Sweden few times over the years. Last time when Sven was in charge.

Where's the Macclesfield fixture!

I'm sure there's International games that week as well.
