Remember when they said they wanted worldwide domination?

With this global expansion, didn't we claim image/intellectual revenue against our deficit for FFP and they said we cannot use it for those purposes, cutting off one of our revenue streams?

I think that's all about NYC and Melbourne buying intangible things off us for made up prices - to try and satisfy these twats.

This though is another genuine commercial deal.

Many of you may be aware there is a rumour in Shanghai that we are buying one of the City's 3 football clubs. there is no info about it on the web, I think the source is people watching TV over there and leading to a thread on BM.

Ah how it takes me back to Stuart Pearce's fiasco against that pub team Kashima Antlers or something.

When the Australian deal broke, they interviewed some guy on talkshite who they said was an Asian football expert, and he was saying he expeted Shanghai to be the next target, for several good reasons that I can't remember.

Pruhealth, UK and South Africa today

http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Club-news/2014/June/Vitality

Barclays Premier League Champions, Manchester City and their Super League counterparts, Manchester City Women’s Football Club are delighted to announce a joint Club partnership with PruHealth, PruProtect and their parent company, Discovery.

The three year deal will see the innovative health and life insurers become City’s Official Health, Wellness and Life Insurance Partner in the UK and South Africa.

The partnership will primarily be used to promote the benefits of PruHealth and PruProtect’s Vitality programme. Vitality is the healthy living rewards programme, which encourages and rewards its members for living a healthy lifestyle.

Vitality members will now have a chance to win money can’t buy experiences, providing exclusive access to Manchester City players and experiences.

Under the terms of the new agreement, PruHealth and PruProtect branding will be prominent in new player medical examinations during the summer and January transfer windows.

Max Sala, Head of Sports Medicine for the Manchester City first team, said:

“PruHealth and PruProtect’s reputation within the medical profession is first class, as is the invaluable advice and service they provide to our staff who work on and off the pitch. It’s great to have them on board and no doubt they will be a huge asset to the Club in the coming seasons.”

The partnership will also see both parties collaborate on a broad range of initiatives and video content including health tips and exercise routines, geared towards encouraging City and football fans to lead a more healthy and active lifestyle.

Neville Koopowitz, CEO of PruHealth and Vitality, added:

“We believe in the power of sport to help inspire people to live a healthy life, which is why we partner with leading sports figures, teams and events to help us spread the Vitality message. Our collaboration with Manchester City Football Club is one of our latest moves in our goal of changing the game when it comes to people’s health.”

Plans are also in place to introduce a Vitality award at City Live, the Club’s annual season launch party that takes place on the 13th August at Manchester Central.

Manchester City was the first Premier League Club to roll-out PruHealth’s Vitality programme to its 500 strong staff last year.

Commenting on the partnership, Tom Glick, Chief Business Officer for Manchester City, said:

“Leading a healthy active lifestyle lies at the very core of our City in the Community philosophy. Whether it’s educating local school children about nutrition as part of our Strike a Balance initiative, or encouraging our staff to be active we’re passionate about increasing knowledge and awareness of current health issues that affect us all.

“The scale of wellbeing resources and the variety of rewards available to staff was a driving force in our decision to roll-out Vitality across the business. The impact for our staff has been fantastic, and we look forward to helping PruHealth and PruProtect engage with City fans and the wider football community over the coming seasons.”

I think its great the way we are now thinking, its enabling a global reach to places we never even dreamt of venturing to.
Before ADUG, we would have been looking at partnering with local firms or national companies to try and get some money in, we never looked a the global market appeal. Plus being champions runners up and then champions again and in the nail biting fashion we have done it means people get interested.
