Remember when they said they wanted worldwide domination?

With this global expansion, didn't we claim image/intellectual revenue against our deficit for FFP and they said we cannot use it for those purposes, cutting off one of our revenue streams?

I think that's all about NYC and Melbourne buying intangible things off us for made up prices - to try and satisfy these twats.

This though is another genuine commercial deal.

Many of you may be aware there is a rumour in Shanghai that we are buying one of the City's 3 football clubs. there is no info about it on the web, I think the source is people watching TV over there and leading to a thread on BM.

Ah how it takes me back to Stuart Pearce's fiasco against that pub team Kashima Antlers or something.

When the Australian deal broke, they interviewed some guy on talkshite who they said was an Asian football expert, and he was saying he expeted Shanghai to be the next target, for several good reasons that I can't remember.

Barclays Premier League Champions, Manchester City Football Club, are delighted to announce a new club partnership with Jiwasraya. The two year deal will see the state-owned company, which specialises in life insurance and financial planning become City's Official Insurance Partner in Indonesia.

Established in 1859 and based in Jakarta, Jiwasraya has gone on to become Indonesia's leading insurance company, with branches across the region servicing over seven million customers.

As part of the partnership, Jiwasraya have the rights to produce TV ads with City's stars, in addition to featuring the Club crest and player imagery in marketing campaigns throughout Indonesia.

The unique partnership will enable Jiwasraya to offer their loyal customers with money-can't-buy experiences and internal staff with incentives, from meet and greets with Manchester City players, to watching behind-the-scenes training sessions at the club's first-team training facility.

Jiwasraya clients will also have the opportunity to watch Manuel Pellegrini's men in action at the Etihad Stadium, from the comfort of the club's award winning hospitality suites.

Commenting on the partnership, Tom Glick, Chief Business Officer for Manchester City, said: "Jiwasraya's outstanding reputation in Indonesia for educating people to plan for the future, in addition to their core values such as integrity and competence, make them the perfect fit for Manchester City. We look forward to working with Jiwasraya and their customers over the coming seasons to bring them closer to the game they love.

"Manchester City is extremely proud to have a rapidly growing and passionate fan base in Indonesia. This enthusiasm for football was clear for all to see in a recent City supporter event at a Jakarta shopping mall that was attended by thousands of local fans. While the launch of our Indonesian website, twitter and Facebook page has resulted in our Indonesian fans now accounting for our biggest social media following outside of the UK."

This sentiment was also shared by Hendrisman Rahim, President Director of Jiwasraya Jiwasraya, who added: "Since it was founded in 1859, Jiwasraya has established itself as the best service provider and the most trustworthy investment and insurance company in Indonesia. We saw partnering with Manchester City, the current champions of the Barclays English Premier League and notably the most progressive football club in the world both in global development and fan base, as the right strategic approach to boost Jiwasraya's brand.

"It can help us to win potential consumers' minds, because football will always be the biggest passion of Indonesian society. Aligned with the winning-spirit of Manchester City, Jiwasraya will always seek to grow through continuous innovation as well as continuing to facilitate Indonesian society to build a better future, to be champions, together."

I was surprised to find Indonesia has the largest City social media following outside the UK. The certainly are nuts for English clubs there.

Pruhealth, UK and South Africa today

http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Club-news/2014/June/Vitality

Barclays Premier League Champions, Manchester City and their Super League counterparts, Manchester City Women’s Football Club are delighted to announce a joint Club partnership with PruHealth, PruProtect and their parent company, Discovery.

The three year deal will see the innovative health and life insurers become City’s Official Health, Wellness and Life Insurance Partner in the UK and South Africa.

The partnership will primarily be used to promote the benefits of PruHealth and PruProtect’s Vitality programme. Vitality is the healthy living rewards programme, which encourages and rewards its members for living a healthy lifestyle.

Vitality members will now have a chance to win money can’t buy experiences, providing exclusive access to Manchester City players and experiences.

Under the terms of the new agreement, PruHealth and PruProtect branding will be prominent in new player medical examinations during the summer and January transfer windows.

Max Sala, Head of Sports Medicine for the Manchester City first team, said:

“PruHealth and PruProtect’s reputation within the medical profession is first class, as is the invaluable advice and service they provide to our staff who work on and off the pitch. It’s great to have them on board and no doubt they will be a huge asset to the Club in the coming seasons.”

The partnership will also see both parties collaborate on a broad range of initiatives and video content including health tips and exercise routines, geared towards encouraging City and football fans to lead a more healthy and active lifestyle.

Neville Koopowitz, CEO of PruHealth and Vitality, added:

“We believe in the power of sport to help inspire people to live a healthy life, which is why we partner with leading sports figures, teams and events to help us spread the Vitality message. Our collaboration with Manchester City Football Club is one of our latest moves in our goal of changing the game when it comes to people’s health.”

Plans are also in place to introduce a Vitality award at City Live, the Club’s annual season launch party that takes place on the 13th August at Manchester Central.

Manchester City was the first Premier League Club to roll-out PruHealth’s Vitality programme to its 500 strong staff last year.

Commenting on the partnership, Tom Glick, Chief Business Officer for Manchester City, said:

“Leading a healthy active lifestyle lies at the very core of our City in the Community philosophy. Whether it’s educating local school children about nutrition as part of our Strike a Balance initiative, or encouraging our staff to be active we’re passionate about increasing knowledge and awareness of current health issues that affect us all.

“The scale of wellbeing resources and the variety of rewards available to staff was a driving force in our decision to roll-out Vitality across the business. The impact for our staff has been fantastic, and we look forward to helping PruHealth and PruProtect engage with City fans and the wider football community over the coming seasons.”

City debit card for Hanoi!!

http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Club-news/20 ... nouncement

City seals deal with Saigon Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank.

Barclays Premier League Champions, Manchester City, are delighted to announce a new Club partnership with Saigon Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB).

Named the fastest growing Vietnamese Retail Bank by the Global Banking Finance Review, with over two million customers, SHB will become City’s Official Affinity Card Partner in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

The ground-breaking deal will see the launch of the first-ever Manchester City Debit Card in the region, created to cater for City’s rapidly growing fan base in Asia.

Under the terms of the two year partnership, Manchester City branding, promoting the affinity card, will be present in over 400 of SHB’s branches across Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, supported by an outdoor advertising, print and radio marketing campaign.

Incorporating state-of-the-art EMV chip technology, the SHB Manchester City Debit Card is designed with fans firmly in mind. Cardholders will be provided with a multitude of money can’t buy experiences, including opportunities to meet City stars such as Joe Hart, Vincent Kompany, David Silva and Fernandinho.

Benefits for cardholders also include the chance to win tickets to watch Manuel Pellegrini’s men in action in Manchester, exclusive behind the scenes Etihad Stadium tours, signed memorabilia and discounted club merchandise.

Commenting on the partnership, Tom Glick, Chief Business Officer for Manchester City, said:

“Following a string of recent accolades, including the Most Innovative Trade Bank in Vietnam, SHB’s reputation as a dynamic, forward thinking financial institution is richly deserved. With an average growth rate forecasted at over 30% per year, over the next five years, it’s an exciting time to team-up with a partner of SBH’s calibre, throughout the region.

“We have a fantastic fan base in South East Asia, which boasts some of the most enthusiastic City supporters in the world. The SHB Manchester City Debit Card will be the first of many innovative collaborations, geared towards embracing South East Asia’s passion for football, whilst providing SHB’s loyal customers with real value and once-in-a-life-time experiences.”

I think its great the way we are now thinking, its enabling a global reach to places we never even dreamt of venturing to.
Before ADUG, we would have been looking at partnering with local firms or national companies to try and get some money in, we never looked a the global market appeal. Plus being champions runners up and then champions again and in the nail biting fashion we have done it means people get interested.
