Ben Thatcher would have tried to elbow him rather than make the tackle. Tiatto would have tried to boot him in to the stands than make the tackle. Jensen would have let him go passed him. Tony Vaughn would have tripped over his own feet thinking about how wonderful the rags are and how he couldn't wait to get home and put his rag shirt on. Garrido wouldn't have closed him down and would most likely still be up the pitch wondering whether to bother running back. Wayne Bridge would have backed off until the last minute, dived in and the guy would have skipped passed him.

Kolarov isn't the best, but please don't forget we've had some very very bad left-backs over the years.

That being said, I think it's a little bit less than honest to say that there weren't any fans saying some less than savory things to him. We've seen how some of the baltics react to national comments on the board, do you suppose some might react the same in real life?

And why should a player on your team be getting abused by his own fans during the game? Seems pretty idiotic on all counts no matter how you feel about kolarov, he's on the field trying to play the game and win for City.
