Transfers

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Transfers

Postby bhfanatic » Sat Apr 27, 2013 10:28 pm

Just want to say that Manchester City will never reach the fame Man Utd, RM, Bayern and Barcelona have. Because of the continuous buying and selling of top players, that never get to learn how to play together.
Buy players and let them play together until they reach decent chemistry level. We have bunch of individuals who are great but can't play as a team.
There's no point of buying Cavani, Falcao, if we're gonna sell them if they don't do well first two seasons.

That's from me.

Peace

We're 2nd, in the FA cup final, won the league last year and the FA cup the year before. Not bad for a load of mercenaries with no team spirit.

Tell you what, we'll let Barry hit 33 and not look for a replacement in case it gives you the impression that we're not a team.

Can you give an example of this continuous buying and selling?

Yes Yes and allow the rest of the league to stroll around our Barry + Garcia spectacular combination, right? Or constantly watch Aguero, and Dzeko not finish chance after chance, which end up costing the title, right?

Ironically, people keep saying we don't play as a team, but in reality our passing style requires good team-work and it won us the league. It is individual errors, like strikers missing, defenders making mistakes, keeper making howlers which has cost us more.

Oh and ffs, comparing us to Real Madrid, who literally have a five-yearly turnover in playing staff and yearly turnover in management. Seriously?

Now unless you are an undercover agent, this I refuse to believe. Only some kind of visionary psychic or professional footballing thinker could have come up with "Buy 22 players and let them play together for fuck sakes".

Can I suggest you save this insight for the book, it is wasted here.

Wow. Yes. We made some transfers. Which of those made you believe that we are not a team? Which of those disrupted this core 22 man squad you seem to think we're lacking?

Players sometimes leave because they want to, see DeJong and Ballotelli. What we should do is try and keep an unhappy player about the place, as that is really good for the squad.

Fuck. I can't believe I'm even engaging in this shit.

You're very intelligent yourself as you gave no argument for why I was wrong.

I'll give an argument: like 85% of your compatriots who declare themselves 'football fans', your understanding of the game derives almost entirely from the Champions' League and computer games. You have no knowledge of or feel for the Premiership or its clubs, think that players should go to 'big' clubs playing CL football, without an understanding of the domestic competition which makes up the bulk of a team's fixtures, or an understanding of what the 'real fans' want. The sooner Dzeko is out of the club, the sooner I don't have to get into conversations with these boring, know-it-all, 'armchair experts' who cannot make interesting conversation for more than 3 minutes, without diverting the conversation to transfer gossip recycled from an Italian tabloid, or talking about how much they are looking forward to watching next week's CL fixtures, and can have decent, well-balanced conversations with the other 15% who care about the game overall, and can either teach me something about the German or Italian leagues, or can discuss the Premiership without considering it either 'The Dzeko Show' or Liverpool, Us, the Rags & Chelsea along with a few others.

Buying 22 players would totally unbalance the side, particularly if these players have no Prem experience or bonding. That would end up with us dropping down the league (possibly to as low as 7/8th), which would be financially disastrous, and also cause an imbalance, as half of the squad would want to leave. This might be an acceptable tactic in a two-horse race such as Spain, or the Italian league, where teams have ebbs & flows and a few will miss out on European football for one - or possibly 2 - seasons, and it won't be a biggie, but not in the Premiership, which, both business- and results-wise is a lot more float or sink. Also, why 'buy'? A lot of clubs (and their fans) pride themselves on youth development. I believe that City have the backroom setup for a sustainable development on this front, especially once we have more European experience and take both domestic cups seriously, allowing for gradual blooding of youngsters. I don't believe Mancini is the manager to make this happen, but we don't need the right man in just yet.

Really stupid thread
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

Its all clear now if we hadn't sold Benali we'd be 43 points clear and have the quadruple in the bag. You are a fucking genius. If I were you I'd send my CV and a cover letter into City, you're a shoe in to take over from Bobby. Assclown.

Yup getting bored of these eastern Europeans who don't care, know or give a fuk about city, just interested in their blessed dzeko. Give it up, about as entertaining as a bottle of water.

Everyone knows that these teams never, ever buy any players, they all have a conveyor belt of talent coming out of their fabulous Academies. Everyone knows this because the media keep telling us this, so it must be true.
