Agree on this on, very much so. I was all for it in the beginning of the season but I think that Mancini has shown that he hasn't been able to get his players to figure it out. This one has to be put on in, it's not like our defenders are numptys. Yet they haven't been able to play at a sufficient level when doing this system. It worked against Tottenham and against Real Madrid but it has backfired more than it has worked, that's my hunch anyway.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

I'm dying to hear Carl's assessment after watching Lescott closely today...

I'm not holding my breath for a fair judgement, though. A couple of weeks ago he praised Nasti for an assist Barry made, and berated Kompany for a yellow card he never got.

well i don't want to speak for carl , but the suggestion that Lescott had Carroll in his pocket is just laughable. Carroll looked the most dangerous striker in the second half

As far as I can understand it, yes. But that requires that Chelsea wins their game in hand.

I thought Joe was appalling today. However, I think it's just that he's going through a spell where his game has levelled off, i.e., he's stale. He's still only young and I expect him to kick on at some point and become the goalkeeper we all think he can be.

Has he been carrying this injury for long? It would explain a lot.

It seemed like a new injury to me, brought on by his excellent save from Carroll. For all those criticising him for their goal can you not see how his injury would have prevented him from getting low to the ball in time?

He should have come off and let Bobby McDonald go in net.

Hart in the Prem this season? Not even one of the 5 best keepers. Maybe not one of the top 10 if I want to be incendiary.

He was good today until Carroll scored...that was his man to mark.

He is having a shocker at the moment. Maybe all that front and confidence is just a disguise. Maybe he's struggling at the moment.

A game we should have won by 3 or 4 but refused to take the many great chances we created for that crucial 2nd goal until late on.

One more win should seal 3rd spot at worst and direct entry to the CL draw. Lescott excellent today, Nasri and Tevez lively. Points taken, job done.

Just on the Hart thing, I went into the ground fairly early with the intention of watching him in the warm up. It was quite obvious that he wasn't happy with his warm up level and became frustrated, kicking the post, when his handling wasn't as good as it could have been. I imagine he fully appreciates his form isn't what he is looking to achieve but it was certainly interesting to watch how hard he seemed on himself.

That's the story of our season. How we weren't 5 or 6 up at one point is just unbelievable. Hopefully this is addressed in the transfer window as today's profligacy was criminal.
