I've just been e-mailed yet another survey about expansion. They dont rush into anything do they?
No matter how many times they ask me though we still live 320 miles away which makes the cost prohibitive!! We'll stick with the Blue/priority thank you.
Come on 'Silent Execs', expand that stadium!

I've just had an email about a new form of membership where you would own your seat forever or something.
it basically would mean that if someone wanted to sit somewhere they could compensate the season ticket holder already sitting there in someway.

Sounds like another money making scheme.
I've had a S/T for over 20 years, i am now a platinum member, which i feel I had to do to keep my loyalty points ticking over, but they now want me to pay more so i can become an 'Ever Blue' member to guarantee my seat. Isn't that what a S/T does.
Yet some tourist can now come along, get a season ticket & Ever Blue membership, and if they want my seat, I have to move, but i get compensated......sounds shit to me.

there was couple of times in the survey when they mentioned it could be in place for 2015/16 season.. don't know if you can read anything into that or not tho.
but it is coming at some point I'm sure. just sit back, relax & wait.

I dont think you lose your seat at all, not if you renew on time. But it allows you to keep it in the family etc. But as I said originally it was all a bit complicated. Interesting about the date though Moonchesteri

This is what it says on the survey. Maybe I've read the bit in bold wrongly, but it says the fan would 'have to agree to move seats' so i read that to say, I would 'have' to agree to move should someone want my seat. Am I interpreting that wrong?
Ever Blue would allow you to buy a season ticket for a specific seat in the stadium. For example, you may want to sit next to a group of friends or family who already have season tickets.
If the seat that you wanted was already occupied by a season ticket holder that fan would have to agree to move seats and they would also be compensated by the Club for moving.
The main benefits of an Ever Blue membership would be as follows:
Ever Blue would allow fans to own a specific seat in the stadium forever
This seat could be passed on to a family member who would then own the seat in perpetuity
Ever Blue memberships could only be passed on to family members
An Ever Blue membership could also be sold-on to another fan through the Club if, for whatever reason, you decided you no longer wanted it
You would only need to buy an Ever Blue membership once in order to own a seat forever
You would need to continue buying a season ticket each season for as long as you owned an Ever Blue membership
Fans with an Ever Blue membership would exclusively be allowed to pay for both their season ticket and Ever Blue membership by a quarterly direct debit plan
Ever Blue is a voluntary membership. Fans would be under no obligation to buy one
Ever Blue could be bought in addition to a Superbia, Platinum or Gold membership.
Fans with Ever Blue could use a Ticket Exchange system that would allow them to sell their seat if they do not want to attend a particular match. Ever Blue members would also be permitted to sell their season ticket but retain ownership of their seat.

This is what rags' season ticket holders have been doing for decades. Loads of these fuckers with 'Manchester postcodes' died 30 years ago & their famies keep renewing the tickets every year & sell them to travel companies.
I know a Norwegian geezer ( City fan ) who was stood with me on one occasion at a City training session back in the dark days, with a holdall next to him, full to the top with rag season tickets.
When the demand becomes high enough, this is basically sanctioning the same thing at our place. People will buy them on behalf of travel companies & kick out regulars to be replaced by tourists.
Looks like the medium term future for the likes of me will probably be level 3 behind the goal.

However, it would work perfectly for somebody like me. Working away for long periods sometimes prohibits you from making the games, for entire seasons sometimes, and this would allow me to not purchase for the season but retain my seat (at present my ticket goes to family and friends).
The scheme is quite simple. You can request a move of your seat as time goes by as long as the present incumbent of the seat you want to move to also agrees a move. The downside is that it will inevitably come at a cost although they are implementing a scheme to spread that cost over the full year, not just one lump sum.
Pro's and Con's, and all that.

So if I buy one I these seats in the family stand, what do I do when the youngest reaches the age where I can't sit there anymore? Is it for life or not?

Sounds like another step down the rag highway to me ... we are becoming just like the rags however some try to deny it ...

It's the way of football mate, not just the Rags. I think because where we've come from we've been immune to such things but now we are vying for those top table positions everything else has to come in-line.
Now is probably the time where match going fans start thinking about 'On or Off the Boat', although I can't see us descending so deep that we get to the Rag/Arse way of ripping everyone off.

Yeah I agree and accept that this is the way .... sadly I reckon I'll be jumping the boat next season and leaving my 19 year old S/T on said boat as we will probably start including cup games as well ... just like the rags

D'yer know.....I think a great idea would be to bring back standing and then allow fans to wander up to the gate and pay cash at the turnstile.
I reckon it could work and am amazed nobody has ever tried it before.
Increase the capacity, pay at the gate, I reckon there must be tons of City fans who'd turn up for that gig.

You have to ask yourself; why ? What do they get out of it ? It's not just oing to be for a few extra subscriptions; there will be a master plan.
It sounds to me like they are going to put up prices in the areas which will be more sellable, like the side blocks. 'Encourage' some of us to fuck off upstairs & they fill our seats with people who can pay more. Possibly there wasn't enough interest in corporates sitting in the new top tiers in their last survey, so they're looking to re house some of us up there instead. A firm can buy centre block tickets, (& all those in the block if enough people will move or are priced out) & put their guests in the prime area rather than up in the gods behind the goal, they can sell the seats for top whack.
I predicted that would happen in the lower side areas some years back & this looks to me like they may be testing the water for an attempt at starting down that road. It's not getting much approval though from what I hear.

They will try for a standing area if they can.
