Purple Nose finally retiring this summer ?

Quite a few rag fans are speculating the old cunt will possibly retire this summer if the rags win the title , Gill also now confirmed going, this if it does materialise would surely leave our beloved MCFC and Bobby Manc and our project firmly established as the strongest club in England and the rags grip on all situations loosened.Could this be the final power shift in our favour ?

Any thoughts ?

I reckon if they win CL, he'll retire. League alone, I'm not too sure. He's a funny 'un to guess the mindset of: I'd guess he'd rather go out on a high, but I think he's got a huge 'adrenaline bug', and with the success of van Persie in the team, he may want to carry on a wee bit longer.

Hopefully the old bastard sods off, but I don't think Gill is leaving at all, he remains on the board. He's manouvering to avoid being accused of having a vested interest when he gets his hooks into Uefa.

I'd nearly go as far as to concede the title right now if it meant him retiring on a high, well and truly sick of the sight of him and the strangle hold he has on the english game.

I'm one of the unfortunate ones not to know football without him in charge of the Rags and i have had more than enough at this stage.Sadly i feel he will drag it out until his dying day but i'm just happy that we were able to make the arrogant megalomaniac eat his words with the "not in my lifetime" comment.

As fondly i will remember the City celebrations the day we won the title i will never forget the look on Fergies face when the news filtered through at the stadium of light.Who knows if he sticks around a little longer we might get to see him squirm some more, now that would be nice.

I think he will wait on pep proving himself, moyes has been mentioned but he has never won anything or managed a big club so i can't see it.There will be a plan already worked out and so i'm not convinced the result of this season will matter..unless there is a big surprise in store

Apparently he has agreed to speak at an extensive number of US colleges on tour!

When he's retiring he'll announce it at the start of that particular season so that the rag loving media can milk his bell for a full season. He'll love it.

Oh fuck no he better not be coming to the u of Delaware. I don't need anymore people that pretend like they care about the rags any where near me. They say something to me when I'm wearing blue and then realize they're in a little over there head and have no idea what their talking about. Just because they watched 3 big matches a year doesn't make them a fan. It's the pits.

Wouldn't surprise me if he went after winning the Prem- "story of the season" for the media. Personally I would prefer he went because the rags were in Arsenalesque decline - but, mustn't get greedy.

Mind you, he'll be on the telly more than Chris Kamara - you won't be able to be free of his "wisdom"

Could'nt agree more he is without doubt a truly great manager but he is one horrible excuse for a human being and football and the premier league will be a much more pleasurable place without him around.

David Gill is a very sharp operator, maybe he is off before they have to have a manager every 6 months, The new guy carries the can.

Don't worry. He's probably never heard of Delaware...

I don't think so.

Last time he did that, the rags went to pieces.

I think it will be very hush hush & he'll just suddenly do one & announce the new manager.

Bet you it's a bigger school then either of you two went. Your kind of like those rag fans I was talking about. No idea what your talking about.

I think he'd have retired had they won last season ... he knows over the next 5-10 years City will be a dominating force and the moment he sees his chance of exiting on a high note, he'd be wise to take it ... if they win the league this season, he should know City will come hard next season and then the season after that too to try and string back to back season wins and Chelsea won't be happy playing third for a decade so he'd be very wise to retire the moment they win the league ... anything else they win is bonus. If they don't win the league (highly unlikely at this stage) but end up winning the CL (also highly unlikely), even then that'd give him that decent ending-on-a-high exit as well ... but should he lose the FA Cup to us in the final and lose the league from this position then he won't be going nowhere next year ... so I hope he's going nowhere next season :)

This is exactly what rag fans are saying and thinking AG7. It makes perfect sense for him to retire this summer if they win the title.

Absolute no win situation for them , no wonder Gill has bailed out ?
