For a man with limited footballing ability, you have to hand it to him for the career he's had - playing for United, Madrid, Milan, not really counting LA Galaxy, and now PSG.

It's incredible the hold he has over the footballing world, the media and a lot of the world population, with the perception he's a world-class footballer. I remember going to England games and seeing grown-up, skinhead, hooligan-looking men screaming like teenage girls in excitement whenever Beckham touched the ball.

I've never understood it, and I never will.

Seriously you actually think this?

You dont play for the Rags,Real Madrid,AC Milan, over 100 times for your country and under some of the coaches he has if you have limited ability.

Tbf, when it comes to exposure vs actual end product, Balotelli is leaving him for dead.

It's a joke but from PSGs perspective, it adds to their exposure around the world & if he does manage to hold a place down, will UEFA kick the Beckham industry out of Europe ?

I recon our owners would have done this but they are smart enough to know how it would go down with us!

Based on what? What you have seen while he's been playing Division2 standard football for the past several years?

The way you wrote that I'm guessing you don't want a real discussion.
fuckin hell I'm not saying he's the best player in the world.

It was a genuine question and a genuine assessment of the MLS mate.

I think he's a good player at best - I think he's limited in what he can do but he always worked hard which people appreciated and played the media well.

I've no doubt his ability to shift millions of shirts as the biggest name in world football played a role in the clubs he was able to play for as well. Let's not forget also he chose to go and play a very low standard of football for LA Galaxy at the age of 31. I know there was a huge salary waiting for him in LA but there wasn't exactly a queue of top clubs clamouring to sign him in Europe.

Regardless of how many England caps he has, it was embarrassing him still being picked the last 20 or so times, when he was clearly past his best. It should also be noted that both Emile Heskey and Phil Neville have around 60 caps each.

Drogba played in China. Does that automatically make him a shit player?

I didn't suggest that he was a shit player because he played in the MLS. I asked you how you knew he was still there in terms of ability when he'd been playing substandard football for years.

If you don't want to answer mate then don't. No one is forcing you to.

I hate the scumbag as much as the next City fan, but you're suggesting that he lost all of his ability from playing a few years in the States. I've watched him in MLS and his passing is still world class in addition to his shooting from outside the box. He did the job asked of him when he was loaned to Milan as well. Also, when Henry was loaned to Arsenal last season he showed that players can still perform at a high level coming out of MLS.

I don't really care how he performs in Paris because I hate the cunt, but it is foolish to suggest that he has lost his ability imo.

Feel free to disagree.
