Lazio Ultra's and THFC fans

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Lazio Ultra's and THFC fans

Postby eastlands-lostboy » Thu Nov 22, 2012 3:21 pm

This is a re occuring issue for UK fans travelling abroad. We are still seen as a "target" and a "trophy" to other clubs hooligans. I am old school and long past my selll by date regarding bovver, however as a young City skinhead in the 70's I was subject and witness to some rare old tear ups with other fans on away days. I think, as we, as Premier club fans have become de sensitised to mass trouble, the continentals have seen this as our boys getting weaker and thus very vulnerable to attack. I am not condoning hooliganism, however, we need to wise up a bit and protect ourselves more. An organised attack on visiting continental fans would be very difficult to do due to the ammount of intel in the British game, however no person should be subject to the levels of violence the THFC lot got in Rome. Maybe next time an Italian team visit London, they may get a collective suprise themselves by our cockney "Green street crews" A couple of seasons back we had a great night with some Hamburg fans in the Bradford pub, they were certainly streetwise, but not looking for trouble at all.

FASCIST, racist, bastard criminals, that what they are. not football fans, nor even hooligans.
It's a long, sad and shameful story for all the Italian football.

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

I completely agree that no person should be subject to the levels of violence, however I would not set foot in Italy to watch football as a suppourter of an English club. It would be like walking around with a bullseye on your back.

I went to see Scotland play Italy in the San Siro in 2005. I spent most of the game watching the Italy fans fighting amongst themselves.

I do feel for modern English football fans, paying for the sins on the past. In the four games I have watched City in Europe it was only the Copenhagen trip that I really enjoyed. The other trips seemed had an edge to them that I did not really feel relaxed. I love the away games in the Premiership but I would think twice before going to another European game.

I really don't know why fans go to away matches in certain European countries. In Italy, for example, English fans are regularly attacked and stabbed. As this is common knowledge, why do people still go? I'm not saying don't go to Italy at all, as it is a beautiful country and the majority of people are very friendly, but if you know that English fans will be targeted when a European football match is on, why put yourself in that position (no matter how much you wish to support your club!)?

I understand a lot of it happens because of the reputation English fans developed in the 80s but in this day and age, it really is pathetic that this sort of thing still happens.

Funny thing is..if the leash was off..without fear of condemnation on return to the UK

We would fucking smash these surrender monkeys

Watch them get a fucking slap on the wrist from UEFA

If it was the other way around we would be banned from Europe and that's a fucking fact

No it is not a fact its the typical sensationalist response from English football fans to these types of stories.

If English/Irish/Welsh/Scottish fans were to do the sort of things Serbs/Italians etc have done they would get the exact same piss poor punishment because that's the way Uefa operate.

Add to that it didnt happen in the ground so it has jackshit to do with UEFA.

England fans were banned after years of hooliganism, they committed mass murder in a stadium in a UEFA regulated game. Not beating up people in bars.

You do enjoy getting some digs in about England/the English. Never noticed before but it's quite clearly true. Your choice of words is a deliberate attempt at provocation. You're all over threads that give you the opportunity.

Am I wrong or do you support Rangers?

I was in this thread before Mark pointed out the stereotypical response to an action like this.

Perhaps looking back I on my choice of words were a little sensationalistic, If I offended you by what I said then I apologise but I stand by my point. You cannot compare a couple of scraps outside a ground with the deaths of 39 people and hundreds injured

No, not a Rangers fan. City only.

Make no mistake:
Those thugs have fuck all to do with football and even hooliganism, a perverted extreme of the football passion, in my borderline opinion.
Those are, well know by our inane police, just FASCISTS and true RACISTS who have planned an assault to presumed Jewish Fans, shouting anti-Jewish abuses! Unfortunately, Rome, Verona, and Bergamo to lesser extent, are places where festering pockets of the fascist metastasis are still well radicated.

Also, for the horrific it was, MAIN culprits for the Heysel tragedy were not the English fans or hooligans, but UEFA and Belgian Police for indulging to celebrate a sporting fest in a theater not even remotely fit to host the event, with a ludicrous plan for security!

What does this have to do with Heysel?

Why is Ross saying you cannot compare this with Heysel when he's the first one in the thread to do so?

Why is he talking about scraps outside a ground when this thread is about stabbings in a city square?

Answers on a postcard please.

Nothing against you at all chief. Don't feel as though English fans tar all Italians with the same brush. We're aware that it's a minority and I think most people would recognise it's a social rather than a football issue.

I suppose what's strange to me is that it's still going on in Italy. One of the most stylish, sophisticated, cultural countries in the world are getting their football so wrong at the moment. The ultras are still at large, racist chanting seems like a common occurrence, calciopoli as well as all the other similar recent scandals, stadiums that look half empty week on week. Those scenes at Genoa last season. It just seems like complete madness to me.

I concede that Spain and France have race issues but for a top European league Serie A's fall from grace has been massive. It's gone from easily top two to 4th pushing 5th by self destructing. Thankfully Juve seem to be setting a new trend for other clubs to follow, but I still find myself wondering how honest the results are.

What's been the government response, have they banned these countries from travelling to England yet?

this, in a nutshell, is the answer also to all Your true puzzlements, Mum mate.
it's a too long story that involves the last half century of our Country's half locked, limited democracy.
this is a football forum and serious political debates are not right placed on here. when I'll have the pleasure to spare a couple of hours and few pints with You, I'll gladly open up the book, expand as much as You like and bore You to death..... ;)
if it looks strange to You and all other outside watchers, try and imagine how sad and difficult should be for us, living it on day by day, in a System where, even to have a simple credit acknowledged in a Court may take 10 years.

and please, don't call me chief, Carl's a natural born Chief, I'm just a moaning soldier... ;)
