Signing for Bayern Munich according to various reports today 40m euro. Is this another we missed out on? Would we not pay that sort of fee for him or was Bayern a more attractive proposition for him? Gutted we haven't signed him.

I've heard it's been denied in some quarters.

When I watched this bloke peripherally, I thought he looked really good.

When I watched him in detail, he was fucking hopeless, slow, out of position & lacking in stamina.

I wonder if it's because FFP is ultimately going to prove to be unenforceable bollox of the highest order?

More big clubs that challenge it like this the more I think that will come true.

Been thinking this for a while, cant see UEFA being able to enforce this. Its restraint of trade, thats not allowed in the Euro zone is it?

Champions League and Europa are still classed as invitationals, so they can set whatever restrictions they want I guess.

FFP is not to stop the likes of Bayern and nited spending big money on fees and wages, just upstarts like us..
We 'must be stopped' apparently.

The point of FFP is to stop clubs spending more than they earn. This will not apply to Bayern, Real, Man U etc when they spend big on players but will, at present, apply to the likes of us and Chelsea ... its quite simple really ... bollox imo but simple

We were ready to spend £30 mil on Hazard.

We're just not willing to spend £30 odd mil on a totally unproven player who has stunk the place out for several months whenever he has played or £24 mil on a 29 year old crock.

(At least I hope we're not going to spend that on Martnez.)

All the clubs will just set up their own competition, realy cant see the big english and euopean clubs being dictated to on this. Uefa would be skint without the tv money for Champions league etc

FFP can only work, as with every rule/law, if the clubs agree to it. If they ALL say no or ignore it completely then it isn't a rule and they can do fuck all about it.

But maybe these clubs are allowed to spend because they are spending other people's money and it just tacks onto their existing debts which don't have any effect on FFP.

I'm sorry, but if we keep on winning the league, and growing a fanbase like we will, or are, depending on your point of view, then surely no fucking FFP is going to keep us out of Europe.

It is, always was, and always will be, Chinormous-sized bollox.

It's just a tactic to slow us, Chelsea, PSG and others down, and if we let them do that it may buy them enough time to combat us. Classic stall tactic, and it's working.

City are fucking retarded for falling for this, and Mancini sees it for what it is. Ball-licks.

just my 2 cents.

cheers

It's basically anti-city legislation though, so we have to appear to be tipping our cap to it UNTIL several others (mainly Chelsea and PSG) prove it to be the steaming pile of horse-shit that we all know it to be. Then we have precident.

The question though, is why would UEFA risk introducing financial restrictions if they aren't prepared to enforce it? If that would happen they would lose any credibility as club competition organizers they have and the clubs would be able to force UEFA into any concessions they feel like.

I'm not saying it's impossible that UEFA have actually committed to a cause that will blow up in their face. I'm just saying it would take stupidity of epic proportions. Are we sure UEFA and platini are this stupid?

Chelsea are currently at an estimated 70m loss on transfers, I doubt if profits from other areas will wipe that out. I havent seen anything about PSG but they appear to be spending big, and in a less attractive (and rewarding) league.
