Nice, I think you'll get a better price on eBay than the shops too.

you should have left the negotiations to the club then :)

down to £125k per week and a £20m fee now - staying where he is I hope - rather have Cavani. Whichever one comes who's going though?

David Conn is a journalist for the Guardian, a City fan and an author.
He has recently released a book called Richer Than God (Manchester City, Modern Football & Growing Up) which is the story of how City became the richest club in the world, what it means to the club and it's fans, and also it's implications on the rest of world football.
Review [urlnp=http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2012/jun/28/richer-than-god-david-conn-review]HERE[/urlnp]
I am in touch with his publisher and have asked that David comes on here to do a Q & A session. I think it would be very interesting to hear his views as a City fan but also as a journalist who has researched this topic in great detail.
I will let you know if/when the Q & A session will take place.

Yes mate. He got in touch with me via another website and asked if I would review it if he sent me a copy so I said I would.
I asked if he would do a Q&A session on here as it is far busier than the other site and he said he would ask David and get back to me.

Cheers bud. From the online reviews it actually looks a decent read but from personal reviews off friends it sounds as if it is has been cobbled together hurredly due to our success. I understand that it's all about timing but if you're going to do something like this, it's got to be done right; not just to make a few bob.
I look forward to the Q&A though, it may iron out a few things.

People say City bought the title because of the crazy amount of money spent in the past few years, but what they don't take into consideration is that since the start of the prem, manure have spent more than anybody.
Not only that, but cit have been paying inflated prices. £38 million Aguero would have been less than half that 10 years ago. If manure had bought all the players they've bought in the last 20 years, in the time city have been bought, they would have easily spent 10 times the money city have.
Obviously the logic is flawed because they wouldn't need to buy all those players, but I still see it as an extremely valid point. Either way, manure have bought a lot more titles than city have.

I think we paid a fair price for Aguero, I'd even call him good value thus far.
I wouldn't say we paid an inflated price at all. Once Barcelona and Real Madrid were eliminated from the running for different reasons, we were the frontrunners (for once).

Agree 100% and thought the same when I read it but I re-read it and took it that he meant inflated compared to past times where the swampdwellingragscum were spending big amounts?

Football prices have inflated like mental for a while now, factor in that we're minted and we can afford it, allied to the fact that the FFP (Fuck-up Future Projects) rule is looming - players are worth what we're willing to pay - if they get us where we're after going - well worth it.
Rant alert. Bed now. Nnnng.

Whoops. I'd say that they've had some adverse feedback and the banks are holding it up. If they wait until September they will have to reveal their full years figures and I'd suggest they won't be as appealing.
