Not sure if you still are or not.

The 2022 World Cup will take place in Qatar, in June, in 45° heat.

FIFA obgiously dont give a shit about what temperature their tournaments are played in.

And you seem oblivious to the fact that the world cup in Qatar will cause a major change in football. It was given to them on the grounds they could do something technically impossible - air condition the pitch. The only way out is to move the competition to winter, which would suit everyone other than the Europeans or break the games into quarters.

Winter tournaments would fit in with the South American and African championships. Euros would be a bit cold, but not unplayable.

Alternatively, how much do you think an advert in the world cup costs? For purely health and safety concerns, FIFA can squeeze an extra 6 minutes of adverts into every game. As sport is usually watched live, it avoids the PVR problem where people just fast forward straight through adverts. Therefore ads in sport will become even more valuable.

Once it's proven to work, why not do it all the time? I'm sure the premier league rights would be even higher if there was additional advertising space. Before you know it, we'll be watching something closer to American Football, where the game will take 4 hours, as it's squeezed in between adverts.

maybe they could send their air conditioned pitches to Africa once they sort it out so they don't fucl up City's January 10 years from now, etc...

BTW i had a Rag tell me "that's what you get for buying African players" this week while i was in London. Obvious racist overtones aside, i pressed further into the cave of the bear to ask: "Where did you grow up?" 'London', the response. You'd figure with an American taking the piss out of you at a tableful of colleagues at dinner you'd at least ask him where HE fucking grew up as well. His only responses to pointed facts about their team composition, the money they've spent, and their shortcomings this season, all in response to his proclamation that they'd win the league since "they always do", was "19" "19, mate, 19"....

Roll on ACON...sorry for the brief interruption

cheers

wow..that thing bent soo much. that was great.

I wonder why his kit in the ACON says "Yaya Toure" but here its "Toure Yaya"

The Demba's back from ACON and each score today...not even rested. Hopefully we can do the same
with Yaya and get the same result.

When Yaya came here, he said he would like from now on to be called Toure Yaya, instead of Yaya Toure, because when he was at Barca, he was often confused with his brother, Kolo.
Imho, at the national team his shirt is print the other way around because they aren't the best nation in merchandising.

See another shock win for Zambia as they beat Ghana to reach ACN final. Yaya's boys also leading at half time so on their way to expected place in final.

Streets ahead of any team in it.

Watched a bit of tourney here and there and the standard was poor. Some very average footballers on show and a huge gulf in class between the top players and some of their opponents/team mates.

We wont see the Toure's until the Porto 2nd leg. Its mandatory for African players to disappear for a few days after a tournament.
