Whose debut sticks in your mind?

For me, Quinn against Chelsea. He was outstanding that night won everything in the air as well as scoring the equaliser in a 1-1 draw and I went home buzzing.

Steve McManaman - Even more memorable given how utterly wank he was for every remaining minute of his time here.
Kinkladze
Ali B

Trevor Francis at Stoke. Electric. Aguero's is the best since imo & felt similar in a lot of ways.

Ali Bernabia had a great debut v Birmingham. What a difference he made to that team.

First match after September 11, there were U.S. flags on the Kippax. No one knew who he was but the crowd could see inside a few minutes that he was a genius and he ran the game. Afterwards the Birmingham manager said he wished City had signed him a week later - and a week later he led City to a 6-2 at Sheffield Wednesday.
Also remember Kinkladze's debut v. Spurs, in the first minute he played a pass that should have put someone in on goal but no one was good enough to read it, which was the story of Kinky's time at MCFC, really.

I was quite excited with Adebayor's debut, rocket goal in the third minute. Great note to start the season. Not quite the 2 goals, one assist of Aguero though.

Steve Daley vs Southampton I think.

Scored 2 and then did fuck all else for the rest of his City career.

Samaras looked a world beater against Newcastle. Sibierski also seemed decent (goal against Charlton [?] from memory)

No one can ever top Christian Neguoai's though - sent off within 3 minutes and before he'd touched the ball.

Mcmanaman is one of the most famous in recent time due to how bad he turned out, i remember we had a similar thread last year after ,inlers blinding debut against liverpool he was unbelievable, he hasnt come close to reaching that level since though...

Robinho was magical in his first few games, especially the 6:0 hammering of Portsmouth.

Wanchope's home debut was special - scored a hat trick against Sunderland. After that match I though we would challenge for a European spot with Wanchope and Weah firing in the goals. Didn't quite go to plan if I remember correctly :-)

Seemed to remember Michael Frontzeck having a decent debut, despite looking like Homer Simpson.

For the real statto's, Barry Silkman scored an absolute peach of a chip at Ipswich on debut in a 3-1 defeat. I had the misfortune to be there as we had relatives in Suffolk at the time. The aforementioned two players both turned out to be utter shite.

Most memorable debut for me was Tony Grealish in 1986ish at Maine Road verses them from down the road!

Straight from Kick-off he took 2 players out with a single bone crunching lunge (I think the players in question were Whiteside & Robson, but I may be mistake on this!)

The game ended a draw (1-1 i think?), and i don't think he did much else in the game, and was eventually substituted... but what a way to mark your introduction to the CIty Faithful!

Anybody remember this or have a link?... the events may have been significantly exagerated in my memory with the passage of time... but i really hope not!

surprisingly Grealish's opening lunge doesn't appear to have made it onto Youtube, although Big Mick's equaliser has

My favourite debut? Patrice Evra

Arni Arason in that FA Cup tie away at Spuds.

If only for that double save in the second half.

I remember Vassel scoring 1 or 2 against his former team. But was that his debut ?
