I def. feel Kompany has a good shout for one of the centre back spots. Neuer for GK? Also think you can shift Messi out right and put in a top central striker to get more attacking force.

Left back has to be Cole unfortunately, don't like him but he is prob. the best for the position. Right back was Maicon last year, not heard alot about him this year but a good shout still I think. Essien alongside De Jong? Yaya has had a good few games as of late but not nearly as consistent as he needs to be world top XI.

At striker I want to put Radamel Falcao simply because I think he will be just as dominant as he is in the portuguese league if he moves to a big league like Spain or England. Love the guy, but not the best striker in the world as of now. I would also like to chuck a big guy in there like Dzeko or Zlatan but neither done well enough this year... So gonna go for Edison Cavani, scored 26 goals for a not that immense Napoli team and should fit in well alongside the two top scorers in the world this year.

For the creative midfielder role I def. feel Özil is the man, one of the safest starters in a star-specked RM XI.

So...

GK - Neuer?

LB - A. Cole (reluctantly)
CB - Kompany
CB - noone stands out at the moment...
RB - Maicon (in lack of a better option)

DM - De Jong
DM - Essien
M - Mezut Özil

AML - Ronaldo
S - Cavani
AMR - Messi

Yeah, how could I forget them? Still, best XI in 2011 could be half Barca if we wanted too... just so boring to pick so many of them. Still think Essien might be a better shout if you plan to actually have that pos. as a defensive one.

Still any three of these five is a great setup!

so - in our current system - we agree on nige but who's alongside?

iniesta, ozil, xavi, essien?

i'd probably go for:

DM - Nige
DM - Essien
M - Xavi

I like iniesta better but that's just me:-) If you want Ozil in there you need to pick the most defensive of Xavi/iniesta if you play them as DM, if you want NDJ and Essien then you can pick the creative one:-)

Anyone better than Cavani for the Striker pos. if you shift Messi out wide?

It's a tricky one actually, and while it may appear very biased, are there many better strikers than Tevez at the moment?
Thinking through the leagues and no one is catching my eye. Certainly nothing in Spain, Italy, Germany or France IMO...

Only saw Cavani in WC and wasn't too impressed. Looked quite slow.

EDIT: Ignore that - Villa

If Nigel is in there Essien isn't needed.

GK - Neuer

LB - A. Cole
CB - Kompany
CB - Vidic
RB - Alves

DM - De Jong
M Iniesta
M - Mezut Özil

AML - Ronaldo
S -Rooney
AMR - Messi

Hard to argue with that allthough harsh to leave Xavi out.

LB - A. Cole
CB - Pique
CB - Vidic
RB - Alves

DM - Essien
M Iniesta
M - Xavi

AM - Ronaldo
S -Villa

Why not? He's the best in the world at his position. You are rating essien off reputation, you ask Chelsea fans and they don't rate him anymore.

GK - Hart - not see enough of de Gea or Neuer to know how good they really are, rather than just on YouTube clips. VDS is more assured, but reactions are going and struggling with injury (can't kick).

LB - A. Cole - probably still best attacking left back
CB - Kompany - think he's been best 'cultured' defender in PL this season
CB - Vidic - best 'aggressive' defender in PL, would make awesome pairing with Vince
RB - Alves - best attacking RB in world. Just ahead of Ramos.

DM - de jong - if you want someone to break up play and pass the ball 2 yds, I can't think of anyone better. Not best midfielder in world, but perfect for this system
M Iniesta - could be others you could pick as an individual, but as a pairing with Xavi in a 3, I don't think you can leave one out.
M - Xavi - as above

AM - Ronaldo - how many goals? In top 2 players in world
S - can't decide. Villa is excellent, but not sure he'd fit in. A proper Torres would be a better fit, or last season's Drogba. A Rooney or Tevez would fit better too, but not on early season form for former or post xmas for latter.
AM - Messi - how many goals? In top 1 players in the world

No I'm not. I've watch NDJ play all but one game this year, I've seen most Chelsea games too. Essien is still miles ahead.

Box to box, Essien was probably best in world a couple of seasons ago, but hasn't got back to that since injury. This system doesn't want someone who can get forward though, otherwise you'd be screwed if you lost the ball, with 3 midfielders and 2 fullbacks up the pitch. It needs someone disciplined, who will sit and just break things up. Busquets, Mascherano or de jong and I'd take The Lawnmower on this season's form.

Should've just put 4 City players in and shut up shouldn't I?

Amazing how many of the best players in the world we have yet we're only competing for fourth!
