They could do with him too.

That team has no pace, no options up front and no width. With Downing, Bent and Gerrard back they'd be a decent side in my opinion.

I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool haven't already tried making an approach to get AJ on loan for the rest of the reason and been told where to go.

Should we put in a £25m bid to let Sunderland think we want him and then withdraw the offer at 3pm on Saturday afternoon?

What people don't seem to understand is that with so called "sensible" approach you can break into top six maybe. But you'd have hard time, apart from maybe one fluke season, to break into top 4 and no chance whatsoever to win the big one.

Rubbish. The rags have been the best team the world has ever seen for as long as anyone can remember with a team made up of poor salfordians, who were born within sight of that magnificent stadium. You can't buy success, you have to grow it from within, maybe buying the odd talented youngster for a few hundred thousand e.g. shrek, tranaldo, nani, anderson to help. God bless 'em.

Have any of you ever been to Sunderland? Could be he just hates the place and/or doesn't like the seventies.

Aye, best to swap it for the glittering, cosmopolitan metropolis of Birmingham.

There's also every chance that he didn't see the funny side of his own fans racially abusing his mum when he made his debut. No sense of humour that lad.

It's worth reading the thread they've got on one of their forums.

http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=558999

Looks like some 'ITK' type character comes on and says about it, then there's 10 pages of 'Fuck off WUM' etc and then it becomes breaking news across SSN and journalist's twitter accounts'.

To be fair, at least that sounds like just one nobheed. I thought you meant something along the lines of at least a group of fans doing it. You get knuckle-dragging halfwits anywhere. Still, not nice.

I hope he has a plan because I honestly can't see why the hell we would want to move.

He isnt top 4 quality, but he is good. He needs to be playing every week to be effective, he can do that at Sunderland, he can't in a big 4 team.

Surely he learnt his lesson at Spurs. By getting back to playing regularly he got himself back into the England set up.

This ranks as a mini Rooney/Tevez type saga.
