Where is he? Does he have a future at our club?
I wish he was playing instead of superjaw. I think he'd have roasted these teams. I want him back and firing.

Can't help but love Sweep, but the truth of the matter is that he is inconsistent... and so you never know what you may get. I'd go as far as hedging my bets that perhaps due to his age and attitude, Mancini isn't as bothered about trying to force him to re-assess his play. Sweep strikes me as living in his comfort zone a bit too much if you know what i mean. That said i'd love him to get some games and show that up as being wrong. The ultimate question for Mancini is how long do you give him.

He has very little playing future left at City save the odd CC Cup appearence imo. Even Vieira will get more games than him which tells it own story really.

you're still fond of the mad dash down the flank to give the ball away just outside the opponent's box then i guess? i don't miss that at all...super frustrating. I'd rather have Milner any day of the week. I love his mentality and his approach.
I will say SWP's one of the funniest guys i've seen in football...so i bet he's a lot of fun to be around on the team. Wish he had a little more time to show us something, but Mancini isn't going to give him some League matches to try and show him anything, his mind is made up.
That said, he's a good squad player to have and i'd hate to see him leave just yet tbh. A few injuries and he could figure more than we'd imagine.
cheers

I don't miss him one bit. Never have I seen a footballer which such a nack for running straight in to people or falling over himself.
Some stuff in here from Doug on thread KK started recently.

Have you been on the juice Dazby ?
Sweep can help City's cause by going to Liverpool or better still to Old Trafford and run into defenders there.
I don't think I've been so underwhelmed by a City player since Steve Daly.

Milner's form has really picked up recently. Played brilliantly over the festive period. Your problem with the lad baffles me, and your insistence upon dropping the 'Superjaw' nickname into every post is becoming like an irritating tick.
Ireland is history, Milner the future. Please, Dazby, cut the fella some slack. Even when he was bang out of form he'd run himself into to ground every week.

As I think I said in the other thread SWP trains really well and that was evident again today. And he does that at the same time as having fun. It's good to have such players in training.
His best days maybe past but don't rule him out getting some game time and doing well.Have to agree about Milner though. I just get the feeling he is settling to the task.

I miss the SWP we sold to Chelsea.

SWP and his Dad can fuck the fuck off... I cannot remember more than 5 great performances by him since he came back.
His dad bad mouths us publically and SWP doesnt do anything to rescind these bad remarks, unfortunately Ian Wright has both the voice and the medium to make this slander heard. Therefore I can only assume then his fathers bad remarks are a result of SWP own opinions and feelings.
I want all leaks out of our club, especially since this particular leak did not show any significant advantage on the pitch when they were given the chance.
(I am not foolish enough to belive that he will regain his pre-Chelsea form after almost 6 years of utter gash)

Let's not be bagging one of our best bitpart players, and I believe this is where Shaun's future lies at the club. He has done his best work against tired legs and as such cannot start but can come on as an impact sub when we need a little end game relief or even, more hope than substance here, if we need a goal late on.
Johnson, Milner, Mario will all start ahead of him I believe and while this isn't great for him, at least he isn't being given a run of a dozen games in a row to completely destroy the memory of pre-Chelsea Sweep.

Agreed.
Cant believe dazby's trawled up this old chestnut again. Dont you understand about giving the ball away Daz?

Sweep gets the ball and does something with it. He's also brilliant in defence.

Milner, if you will, when he plays covers the left hand side. He blusters and shows a great workrate but just isn't doing what a winger should be doing.
Get Johnson back on the left and Sweep on the right and I guarantee we would look a lot more dangerous. More balanced. If we had a tall in the middle we might even get some headed goals. Perhaps not every game but it's a great plan B.
