Maradona

Just a thought if he is in fact being lined up for the Blackburn job would his family follow him over here? Namely his daughter? If so could make a move for aguero even more likely.

Maradona or Madonna, but not a combination of both, that doesn't bear thinking about

Nah it's just that someone in Blackburn ordered a big fat turkey.

'It has been reported that whilst Allardyce was looking at signings such as David Bentley, Roque Santa Cruz and Robbie Keane, the Indian owners were keen on former Hull City midfielder Geovanni and Middlesborough striker Kris Boyd.

Allardyce had suggested he would leave the club if such transfer dealings were forced upon him, but he was left with no choice as he was sacked on Monday afternoon.'

From goal.com. I haven't followed the Venky's thing so don't know if that's bullshit or not. Sounds like they're a long way from tempting the Agueros of the world though.

If I was a Blackburn fan I'd be very worried about these blokes. I don't think they've got anything like enough money to invest seriously in a Premier League club. They'll end up in the Championship sooner or later & tbf; good riddance.

They are right to sack Allardyce though. If you invest £50m to buy a football club and inherited Sam Allardyce as manager, you get rid.

The sensible thing would have been to get the next few games won 1st. Fat Sam would have beaten West Ham. Now it could go either way depending on the players.

The timing of it is wrong, especially when i have just heard that they plan on leaving the caretaker in charge for a few months but it is the right decisions.

They do look shifty though.

Not sure Agüero or his missus would want the great man anywhere near them to be honest. Imagine listening to that shite all week.

As much as I don't like Fat Sam, sacking him in this situation was very stupid move that could backfire big time. Fat Sam would've kept them up. Without any style or class for sure but still kept them up which is THE most important thing for them right now if they plan to start building fast. ANY new manager, not just complete clown like Maradona, would be serious risk that at best could take them (lower) midtable and at worst to disaster of relegation. There is absolutely no upside in this move and therefore ridiculous move.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Agree entirely. This could prove to be a very big error on the part of the owners.

this ESPN quote made me laugh

"Rumours doing the rounds suggest that Diego Maradona is among those being mentioned for the vacant manager's post. If that's true, then Venky's really do need better advice. Expecting a man who won nothing with a forward line of Lionel Messi, Kun Aguero and Carlos Tevez to coax champagne football out of Jason Roberts and Kris Boyd, a possible January target, is beyond laughable."
