Ithink the best way round this would be subscription only for Doug's posts.Let's say a penny a day and give all proceeds to charity over the year it would probs be 3 quid tops. But only members who are known and have joined before a certain date would be allowed access. All the journo's are doing are lurking they have not signed up to the site.

Great idea

All they'd have to do is have one of their mates spend an hour arguing with me or BBS about team formations & they'd have 50 posts.

Lets all march on Fleet Street donning our colours and displaying anti-press banners...

...wait a minute, we're off to Juve next week! No need for two beatings in a week.

Seriously though, Doug is a legend, many users here read and enjoy his posts daily, and he hasn't compromised any tactical information. There should be no suggestion of censoring his thread, as he himself ensures anything sensitive isn't divulged. The problem is with the press, their willingness to print what could be considered as conjecture (I'm sure you all know what I'm getting at given our clubs coverage recently). They are allowed to get away with reporting anything, and so long as the party in question don't instruct proceedings, they get off with it.

You don't read DH's reports of good team spirit and banter in the papers do you? I think the legality of it is that they stated the information was from here, so it would not be considered as fact. The site owners and moderators should look at imposing Terms and Conditions, even for unregistered visitors, where they have to agree that submissions to the forum cannot be quoted directly or indirectly, and that if they wish to use anything, to contact the mods. If you already have that, Jackpot?

This is shit!! Intellectual property is binding even on the internet, you have to get the permission from the original author before transferring it too another medium. And despite the fact this douche bag didn't even bother to do his job which Doug does for free.

Fucking pathetic Telegraph!!

If Doug get's banned then he's got a hell of a case against them.
