Seems pretty clear that some players have improved no end. Others haven't and some gone backwards maybe. Is any of this down to the manager directly or indirectly ?

Better
Micah Richards (ENG)
Kolo Toure (CIV)
Pablo Zabaleta (ARG)
Nigel de Jong (NED)
Vincent Kompany (BEL)
Jo  (BRA)
Joe Hart (ENG)
Dedryck Boyata (BEL)
Joleon Lescott (ENG)

Same as
Shay Given (IRL)
Wayne Bridge (ENG)
Adam Johnson (ENG)
Gareth Barry (ENG)
Patrick  Vieira (FRA)
Shaun Wright-Phillips (ENG)
Carlos Tevez (ARG)

Worse
Emmanuel Adebayor (TGO)

Too Soon or We Dont Know.
Roque Santa Cruz (PRY)
Mario Balotelli (It)
David Silva (ESP)
Yaya Toure (CIV)
Aleksandar Kolarov (SERB)
Jerome Boateng (GER)
James Milner (ENG)

Some are saying AJ has got worse..

I was also thinking about Tevez's goal record with the two managers.. fancy doing some research blue wine? i've got a feeling it will be better under Mancini.

he scored 9 goals (in all competitions) under hughes. cant be arsed to count how many his scored under bobby, but he has scored more this season already.

tevez got off to a slow start with that heel injury he suffered in the shower - he really picked it up later in the season under mancini.

AJ was a mancini buy in january

Nigel de Jong may as well not exist.

Its impossible to be accurate with this.

Why has Adebayor got worse? He was injured and clearly rusty, he now looks much better but isnt being played all the time so isnt sharp.

Give him 5 games and you'd get 3 goals, is he then worse or better?

i meant it more as a question tbh.. have players improved or not under Mancini. And is that anything to do with him or not?
But as im still hungover it seems i fucled up the OP.

Like Tevez's goal tally is far better, thats pretty conclusive, but his all round game has that improved?

Adebayor seemed better under Hughes to me and has gone backwards.

deJong is almost a different player.. but was that partly the WC.

Two that stand out as better under Bob are Vinnie and Kolo.

I cant remember Hughes talking much about players improving, cutting out mistakes was a favourite but not much on individuals. Mancini seems to mention it a fair bit. Does that give away a difference of thinking and approach?

Is Jo a better player or has he just gotten to play? Look he is not a star, he is not even an above average player, but his vertical ability, combined with his pedestrain (by PL standards) skills are enough that he makes an impact IN Mancini's system.

Would not agree with some of the players stated as same as

Tevez has been far better under Mancini.

This season Barry has been far better than last.

Johnson although not starting every game looks like hes developing into a better player.

Vieira looks far fitter and has been far more influential when he features, still never going to be first choice by any means but has been well worth his salt when called upon.

Most importantly the real improvements have been Toure and Zabaleta they are both playing at a completely different level this season, both have been in great form.Dejong and Kompany just seem to keep getting better and better.

Good topic by the way.

Zabba really has moved up imo... but also looks like he is taking it in his stride completely. Showing a lot of solid confidence and an itsy bit less doing stupid stuff.
